To put it mildly, we don't know anything. We have detected this world is in the early 20th century of technology, possibly somewhere in between where humanity fought World War One and World War Two, we have mapped out to the best of our abilities where we recon the borders are currently, by listening to broadcasts and detecting movements of troops and fire. The large yellow colored blob that occupies several places is apparently an upstart empire, from what we understand it was unified about 100 years ago and is now on what would only be described as a colonization spree. It aggressively took over several massive areas. You see the large amount of white blobs bordering it on its west, that used to be a single united large Empire that was a rival of a very small Yellow nation. It seems the residents of the Yellow Empire have absolutely shattered the larger Empire and are now slowly destroying the remnants, which are constantly fighting each-other. Their biggest current rival is the dark-yellow nation in the north of the Yellow Empire, that place seems to be experiencing a violent radical revolution, it seems they are trying to apply something akin to democracy, but rather instead of electing officials to posts, each populated area elects a council which joins other councils. The Yellows in contrast are an Empire and the various state both of them are fighting over are stuck somewhere in the middle.

That is the most important conflict point from what we understand, while in the north, there is something of a cold war going on. The giant red state is, from what we gather, the principle supplier of the dark yellow, they seem to, however, have something of a totalitarian rule, where one council from the capital state controls the other councils in what would be a parliament in this place. It seems to be in a cold war with the Blue and Black states, the Blues seem to be very old empires that have colonized much of the world, but eventually lost it, with only the blacks holding large parts of its Empire and the light Blue which seems to also be in contention with the brown in the far east, in contrast, the brown seems to be a new Empire trying push for influence against both Blue and Red. The last important state seems to be dark Green, it seems to be a giant Empire that is incredibly old, ruled by a religion that is aggressively expansionist, it seems Red also believes in this religion but is still in conflict with dark green. It seems dark green rules over many different ethnicites and both Red and Brown might be stoking the fires of revolution in there.

That is pretty much all we know about these states, please feel free to ask questions and we will see what we can gather form the recordings and information gathered. We are well on our way to decipher the language of the natives, so we might have greater ease communicating with them.
