All turns are out. They are due February 14th.

Figured I ask here - anyone have any thoughts about a group newspaper post thing, like we've had in a few other games? Obviously we know from experience that most people don't keep up with a full time newspaper thread, so for those of us who want to make use of newspaper and flavour posts without having to commit to keeping a full thread up at all times, it might be useful.

I'd support this, prepared a header for it and all. Saves me making seperate threads for the Manchester Guardian too.

You're welcome to! I am in fact looking forward to seeing that play out. I just think most of us don't have the dedication to run one newspaper consistently, let alone two like you hah. We're more likely to get engagement if we have a single thread for intermittent posters and dedicated people can maintain a thread of their own.

I think that's a decent idea, actually. Would give folk an opportunity to post media articles from various points of view from within their own countries as well - so we're not at all hamstrung by keeping to one political line in newspaper articles, if the mood takes us. Would be a good addition to those who might feel intimidated by writing up newspaper posts in their own thread, too.

If most people like the idea, then sure!

I have a question about the newspapers. Are they solely for flavor, or does the GM consider them to aid in the PR of the ruling government with it's people?

Mostly just flavor. That way a creative player could write opposition or underground papers without losing popularity.

Also I updated troops. Speak now or forever hold your piece with each nations initial endowment.

Make sure to get your turns in. If I don't get them by Sunday I won't be able to do the turn for another week.

Can we get a turn tracker so we can harass people who haven't sent their turns? Just edit the OP and insert it.

I'm still waiting on diplomacy before I can do a turn.

So after debating it and having initially decided to stay on, several cumulative reasons lead me to go ahead and say I'm withdrawing from the game. I'm not even a major so w/e.

I would be happy to take over as China if Snacks is sure he does not want to continue but I would need the turn sending me. I would complete it tomorrow lunch uk time.

If no one objects to this transfer, then it can occur.
