This year of 1900 on July 4th the US Congress passed the motion to finally give the country it's national anthem using one the navy has been using now for the past few years namely the Star Spangled Banner. it is expected to be sung on July 4th for the president as he attends a White house party celebrating the nations 124th birthday. For those as yet unfamiliar we feel it only fitting to post the Lyrics of our nation's newly appointed National anthem. This taken from a poem comprised after the war of 1812 at the siege and successful Defence of Fort M'Henry.

Oh say can you see,
By the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed,
At the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
Through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly streaming.

And thy rocket's red glare,
Thy bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night,
That our flag was still there.

Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
