Go nuts.

Egypt should probably be getting some benefits from the financial aid offered at last year's Arab League Summit.

I suggest also editing the name of the country in the stats to "United Arab Republic (Egypt)" to be clearer.

Do you want a slightly-recoloured version of the map to show spheres? It's a little full on. But otherwise things look good to me!

Huojin: No thanks, man. I deliberately made the Powers the same color as their spheres to see how it looked. I like it so far, makes it more striking. Lemme know if anyone has a problem with it.

Seren: The name change sounds reasonable, and I'll look into those credits later, though I'd also like to know how much you think you should be getting (I'll probably follow your lead unless you ask for too much).

As Jordan and Syria would also be getting this aid, I guess it depends how much the total value of aid from the oil-producing Arab nations is. If the total aid is +30, then it'd be +10 each for Egypt, Jordan and Syria, if +45, +15, and if +60, +20. If that makes sense. It's split three ways either way.

Credits =/= Money. I'd estimate +10 top end, or +5.

Can't help but feel the military sizes of the two Congos are the wrong way around? Maybe that's just me.

Also I'm pretty sure Tsiranana is in power in Madagascar right now, and he's an anti-communist. Their bonus should probably be going to France.

I think Huo is right about Madagascar, I remember it from last time around when I was France.

Had a thought about the aid given what it was for and credits =/= money: since it was specifically military and reconstruction aid, perhaps it would apply a credit cost discount to those specific actions rather than a credit income bonus per se? Just a random thought out of the box for a more nuanced representation.

Ok so here's the update:
  • Madagascar is fixed. Guess I'm more used to seeing it red, sorry about that.
  • I moved around the map and stats for Yemen to (I think) more accurately reflect the situation. Lemme know if I fucked up.
    Spoiler
    Show
    -Kingdom of Yemen (North Yemen)-
    Government: Monarchy
    Stability: 4
Sphere: Saudi (British) While Saudi Arabia itself is under the American sphere, I put the royalist side under secondary British influence since they were more hands-on with supporting the rebels.
Units: 2 I decided against breaking their units down into regulars and tribesmen, since I'd have to then do it for the Republican side and I've seen nothing so far that would indicate it would be necessary from a gameplay perspective (it doesn't seem like outside powers would be able to switch their alleigances).
    Economy: 1
    Conflicts: North Yemen Civil War

    =

    Yemen Arab Republic
    Sphere: UAR
    Units: 2

-People's Republic of Southern Yemen (South Yemen)-
    Government: Multi Party
    Stability: 4
    Sphere: UAR
    Units: 2
    Economy: 1
    Conflicts: None
  • Also added a +10 bonus for the UAR, filed under "Arab League Aid." While giving a discount to those specific actions might be kinda more realistic, I'm tryng to keep this game simple so that'll have to do.
  • I'm liking the UN stuff so far! Keep it coming! (either by presenting new resolutions or continuing the debate, it's all fine by me). I'll try to put up some NPC UN posts regarding South Africa before posting the turn, but if I don't just assume your allied countries support whatever you say, unless I indicate otherwise. You'll find out in the News anyway. :P

Oh, minor other thing, the map still shows the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, when in reality it's long since split up into Rhodesia, Zambia, and Malawi.

Am I allowed to post in the UN, despite pesky imperialists stopping my being there?

I mean, you can send a statement, but you have no real power until you're allowed in. Maybe you should ask them to let you join!

I'd prefer a revised version of the NNPT that doesn't designate the PRC by name, but rather one that draws from Article IX, para. 3 - "For the purposes of this Treaty, a nuclear-weapon State is one which has manufactured and exploded a nuclear weapon or other nuclear explosive device prior to January 1, 1967."

Otherwise, looks good mate! I'd've preferred things a little differently here and there, but it was an enjoyable read and a well put together first turn. Unless I suddenly discover something awful, in which case I pre-emptively take it all back.

Found something!

Eastern Revolt in Angola isn't established until 1973.

Madagascar's diamond bonus is still going to the USSR in the NPC stats instead of France, even though we already agreed they're pro-France right now.

The map should probably also show Israeli occupation of the Sinai, Golan Heights, and the West Bank. And while you're fixing the map, when you cut things in from a different version, a bit of old-British colour got on Kenya, and old-China colour on Rwanda. And Guinea-Bissau and Cabinda should be coloured correctly, rather than neutrally. And Tanzania is uncoloured. And Mexico is the only neutral country coloured a weird, darker grey. Is there a reason?

EDIT: Oh, and the UAR shouldn't get a Suez bonus, the canal has been blockaded and closed by Egypt since the war.

EDIT2: And the news says I sent aid to Congo-Brazzaville, when you and I both said and recorded Leopoldville. Minor error, is all.

... and to be honest, most of this stuff is shit that needs fixing in the base stats, not errors you've made.
