Treaty of Prague

His Imperial Majesty The Holy Roman Emperor Charles III, and His Majesty Peter I, the Tsar of All Russia, desiring that wider peace in Europe be preserved, have resolved to agree the following treaty.

The two Great Empires of Russia and Austria affirm their commitment to stability and peace in Central and Eastern Europe, and to this end pledge friendship and cooperation.

If war should break out between either party and another great power, excluding that presently contested between the Tsardom of Russia and the Kingdom of Sweden, both shall make common cause of arms to bring about the end of such a conflict.

Joint cause shall also be made in future declarations of war made in conjunction towards a foreign power where such interventions are deemed necessary in pursuit of the aims of this treaty.

This treaty shall last for ten years and be open to renewal for a continued alliance in the ninth year.
