Syrian Arab Republic

The people of Syria graciously accept the well wishes of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and of course reciprocates them. Let our nation, as an inalienable part of the Arab homeland, look to the example of Kim Il-sung and his steadfast leadership in building a self-reliant state, and let us learn from the Korean people in their courageous, unrelenting fight for the unity and independence of their own country!

Syrian Arab Republic

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to release the following statement on behalf of the Regional Command of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party.

We, the Regional Command of the Syrian Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, officially note with concern the tensions within the Regional Command of our Iraqi neighbors, as well as further issues within Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine. Finding as we do unfortunate parallels with the splittis qutri movement led by the late Jadid government, we wish to extend a message of solidarity and regret to the Iraq Region of the Ba'ath Party for the deterioration within our relations that has prevented us from acting.

To best remedy this, we call for a conference between our Assistant Secretary, Mohammad Jaber Bajbouj, and his Iraqi counterpart, done immediately and with the aim of ideological and pragmatic re-evaluation of the scientific and spiritual ideology of the Ba'ath, in the name of the religions we follow and the Arab people. May we have peace yet, so that we might prepare for the wars to come.

Remember the promise of our founding brothers, our Ba'ath: one state, bearing an eternal message.

In the interests of regional stability and Arab unity, we will consent to a meeting, and invite Assistant Secretary Bajbouj to Baghdad to consult on the future of the Ba'ath movement and the Arab people.

In coordination with our friends in the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, Syria officially calls for six-party talks on the matter of the current East Pakistan crisis, sponsored by both our nations and joined in mediation by the Imperial State of Iran. We hereby invite representatives of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Provisional Government of Bangladesh to join us in the city of Aleppo to begin working out an end to the terrible hostilities plaguing East Pakistan, and also extend an invitation to the Republic of India to attend as an observer.

The Republic of India has stated many times that an active genocide is occurring in Bangladesh, orchestrated by the Pakistani military. To ask the government of Bangladesh to negotiate as their people are being slaughtered is, quite frankly, a ludicrous request. By the time debate has finished, the Bengali people may be no more- such is the scale of carnage in Bangladesh.

Thus, India has one and only one condition for attending the conference: The immediate and prompt evacuation of all Pakistani military personnel, in Bangladesh. Anything less would be an insult to the many tens of thousands who have been killed so far.

If this condition is met, India shall immediately demobilise its military and urge the government of Bangladesh to halt military operations, and will further aid the Pakistani military in removing its troops. Fulfilment of this condition will be an incredible show of good-will to not only, we assume, the Bangladeshi people, but also India, too.
