*The International Seminar on Socialism and Cooperative Development is established. It serves as a forum for Left-Wing countries to discuss their differences and plan resistance to the world order. Many wonder if the divisions growing between Moscow and Beijing can be solved by this Organization.
* The East African Community Administrative and Economic Reform is established. It serves as a vessel to expand the Economic connections of states in East Africa.
* The All Arab infrastructural bank is established. Arab states across North Africa and the Middle East join this financial organization.
* In the United Nations, several resolutions are put forward regarding South Africa. One resolution calls for voluntary sanctions about the Apartheid regime, this passes despite South Africa pledging to engage in reforms. A UN resolution on the occupied Southwest African territories fails as the USA rallies its camp against the measure.
* A resolution about Rwanda is tabled by Tanzania after opposition by France.

Africa

*International pressure on Spain to cede Ifni to Morocco continues to mount.
*Mauritius becomes independent from the UK.
*The Military regime of Andrew Juxton-Smith is overthrown by Brigadier John Amadu Bangura. Bangura restores civilian rule to Sierra Leone.
*Ibrahim Abatcha, leader and founder of FROLINAT in Chad, is killed in a clash with the Chadian Army. His death spurs infighting over the leadership.
*France provides aid to the Government of Chad, which allows them to build a new infantry unit.
*A French campaign to destroy the Popular Front for the Liberation of Chad fails, as the rebels remain elusive. The Government of Chad does destroy forces of the 1st Liberation Army, however. The Civil war does not look to be ending anytime soon.
*A bombing campaign against the Popular Front is more successful. Key Leadership in the movement is killed and it collapses as an insurgency.
*The two Liberation Armies of Chad grow further apart as differences in ideologies, religion, and tactics keep them from working as a unified force.
*The government of Rwanda has accepted the presence of several prominent French advisers and Aid groups. It appears Rwanda is turning to France for protection against hostility by its neighbors.
*France sends aid to Mali to shore up the stability of its government.
*The situation in Biafra becomes a world’s concern. Nightly news shows cover the conflict and show starving children and civilians fleeing bombings. Many Western citizens become critical of the military government of Nigeria.
*In response to public pressure, Aid begins flooding into Biafra from both governments and private organizations, both secular and religious. The USA sends a hospital ship to be stationed off the coast of Nigeria. Nigerian ships initially attempt to intercept the vessel but are fired upon by US vessels and are forced to withdraw. No casualties are reported.
*The Biafran forces show renewed strength and begin holding off federal advances. The national government accuses Western Powers of provided aid to the separatists. When a French citizen is captured in a skirmish, this seemingly becomes confirmed. The French government is quick to state that the individual is a private citizen. Biafaran forces grow by two.
*The Nigerian army launches an all-out attack on the Biafran forces. Controlling the Coast and Most of Nigeria, the Federal forces assault the entrenched Biafarans. The Biafaran forces lose two units in the Fighting, while the Federal government loses one. The Biafarans are able to hold the line however and stop government advances.
*The Nigerian military intercepts Chinese aid to the Biafaran forces. The Nigerians don’t like this, not one bit.
*Reports begin emerging about ethnic cleansing taking place in captured Igbo villages. The Federal government is quick to deny these claims.
*The Nigerian military has turned to British mercenaries to provide training. These mercenaries allow the Nigerians to quickly send a unit into the field.
*US oil firms begin to invest in oil production in Tanzania. The investments pay small dividends as Tanzania’s oil reserves are not as large as other oil producing states and are much harder to tap.
*American business start to invest in Tanzania, providing it with economic growth. Some Americans are concerned about aiding a country which is so closely allied with China and the USSR. Tanzania also begins to establish parastatals in these zones, which lead to further economic growth.
*The USA provides aid to Mali and Chad. Both countries see slight growth because of these moves, but both still face substantial difficulties.
*The “Mouvement congolais pour la libération nationale” is established in the Congo. It finds its leadership in dissatisfied army officers. It seeks to establish a Marxist state in Africa.
*The Soviet Union sends advisers and Machinery to Tanzania to help modernize and improve its agricultural sector. These efforts promote modest growth at best. Many farmers are distrustful of the Soviet advisers and reject any advice to collectivize or change their age old agricultural habits.
*Hastings Banda, the President of Malawi, is assassinated by unknown assailants in Kenya. With another founding father of Africa removed from office, observers wonder what to expect in Malawi.
*John Tembo is quickly elected president and quickly secures the loyalty of the army and pioneers. Lacking the Legitimacy of Banda, however, many do not support his rule. He detains speaker Alec Mjulu Nyasulu, who he claims has been working with foreign powers.
*Many of the Ministers who fled the Cabinet crisis in 1964 believe that they can take advantage of the Situation. In the North of the country the Yao ethnicity grows restless.
*The Kenya’s Peoples Union grows in strength. Many outsiders believe it will do well in the upcoming 1968 elections. Rumors start to circulate that the government will cancel the election, which lead to strikes and protests. The government confirms elections will go through as planned in August.
*Tanzania unites the political parties of the Mainland with those of Zanzibar to form a new party called Chama Cha Mapinduzi.
*Tanzania announces the creation of the Ngwale East African Military Academy in Zanzibar town. This military academy will allow both Chinese and Tanzanian officials to train local military leaders and also volunteers. Zambia and Uganda are invited to send cadets to this school for training.
*Tanzania begins the construction of Great Uhuru Railway, which expands the TAZARA Railway to Uganda. Tanzania sees an increase in trade because of these efforts. China sends supplies and Urban students, who help with the development of this project.
*Zambia sees economic development occur as a result of the EAC farm modernization program.
*President Julius Nyerere goes on a worldwide tour. He first goes to Guinea where he speaks with co-President Kwame Nkrumah. Afterwards he flies to the USA and meets with President Lyndon B. Johnson and praises him for human rights reform. Finally, he travels to Cuba. These efforts solidify Nyerere as the leader of Pan-Africanism and one of the most prominent leaders of the Worldwide Black community.
*FRELIMO grows in strength. It forces based in Tanzania grow more capable and it launches a hold new offensive against the Colonial power. Additionally FRELIMO begins to start preaching the idea of ujamaa, as practice in Tanzania already. FRELIMO now possess the ability to successfully hold territory against the Portuguese.
*Frelimo launches several attacks that temporarily halt the Portuguese coal exploitation in Mozambique. The colonial army is able to push back the rebel forces. Government officials believe that the Coal production will be running against in January.
*Uganda continues its move to the Left. It begins mimicking the practices of Ujamaa. This is not without resistance however, as Northern Tribesmen and Southern Baganda are both very distrustful of the government.
*South Africa deploys 3 units to South West Africa. These units attack insurgents in the People's Liberation Army of Namibia, reducing its ability to function.
*South Africa begins to slowly reform its apartheid system. Some beaches and public areas are now open to all races. The government begins a propaganda campaign suggesting that long term reforms are necessary. The Black population does not like the slow pace of reform and the White population does not like the system being questioned by the very government upholding apartheid.
*South Africa begins some infrastructural improvements.
*The Armed Forces of the Liberation of Angola begin altering their doctrinal education, bringing it more inline with the current trends of Maoism. The seek to wage a true people’s war against the government.
*UNITA grows in Strength in Angola. It emerges as the largest military movement in the country, able to establish a base of operations. In the face of growing rebel support, the Portuguese government doubles down on the war effort.
*The Sudanese Communist Party – Revolutionary Leadership, grows in Strength in Sudan. Not allowed to participate in the elections, it nonetheless grows as a movement.
*Cuba sends doctors and teachers to Tanzania. This boosts the popularity of the regime as the doctors do a lot of good and help people with sicknesses.

Americas

*Argentina begins a massive expansion of its military, recruiting 3 units. Many wonder why the Republic feels the need to almost double the size of its army.
*Additionally Argentina cracks down on communist groups. Using its intelligence apparatus effectively, Argentina is able to arrest the leadership of both left wing opposition groups and send the rest of its membership into hiding. Argentina launches a propaganda campaign on the dangers of communism, but most of the population just sees the dangers of the regime.
*A B-52 bomber flying on continuous airborne alert crashes in Greenland, discharging the four H-bombs onboard and causing widespread radioactive contamination. Political scandal in the US and Denmark ensues.
*US President Johnson barely defeats anti-war candidate for the Democratic Party nomination Eugene McCarthy in the first primary of the election season. With the nation heavily divided and the President's position weak a number of other candidates declare their intention to run, prompting Johnson to declare he will not seek a second term.
*As the presidential race winds on, Robert F. Kennedy becomes one of the major frontrunners. At an event in Los Angeles he is shot and killed by a Palestinian man. Questions are raised after the event, prompting the Secret Service to alter its policies and begin offering protection to prominent presidential candidates for the first time.
*Students shut down Howard University in Washington DC in protest over its ROTC program and the Vietnam War. They also demand a more Afrocentric curriculum.
*Catholic activists burn draft files at the Catonsville draft board in protest over the Vietnam War, using homemade napalm to do so. Their actions inspire a number of other anti-draft and anti-military actions.
*Protestors are shot by the South Carolina Highway Patrol in Orangeburg follow a protest against segregation. 3 are killed and 27 injured - but media and popular reaction is muted.
*Renowned civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr is assassinated in Memphis. Riots and protests erupt in over 100 cities across the US, with thousands arrested.
*A shoot out between Oakland police and the Black Panthers results in several deaths.
*The Civil Rights Act 1968 is enacted in the USA.
*The death of a high school student at a protest in Brazil begins a series of protests against the military government, including a march of over 50,000 people in Rio de Janeiro.
*The United States of America announces that it will stop bombing North Vietnam. While this moved is hailed by peace activists and some neutral nations, it is heavily criticized by many US allies especially South Vietnam. Republican presidential candidates line up to criticize the administration for being weak and even some democrats believe this move is foolhardy.
*After the results of the Tet Offensive, the administration is further criticized for showing weakness and an irresponsibility. A military general openly criticizes the Whitehouse for such a show of weakness. The public grows to distrust the white house, as it had promised the war was ending.
*Guatemala accuses Cuba of sending aid to rebels operating in its territory. The rebels unite as the Communist Vanguard Party of Guatemala.
*The government of Nicaragua echoes the claims of Guatemala, claiming that the recent growth of the Sandinistas can be traced to Cuban funding.
*A new rebel movement is formed in Bolivia. Calling itself the Che Guevara Revolutionary People's Army, it idolizes the fallen communist. It seeks to establish a socialist state and engage in land reform.
*Several Communist groups in Brazil gain strength. This grow comes in spite of an overwhelming government crackdown on their activities. Police actions and pressure keep each group on the run however and make efforts by the Popular Revolutionary Vanguard to form a United Front failures.
*In what some scholars are calling the “Season of Red”, the Colombian communist insurgencies also grow in strength. Politicians and Soldiers across the Americas call upon the USA to stem the tide. The National Liberation Army agrees to merge with Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People’s Army. The new group is called the Revolutionary Front of Colombia.
*The insurgents in Venezuela also grow in size, as do those in Uruguay. The government of Uruguay accuses Cuba of supporting the rebels. It provides copies of correspondence between the local insurgents and Cuba and demands International institutions take action. The rebels in Venezuela undergo factional infighting which sees the victory of a group that wants to emulate Cuba.
*In Mexico, the various leftist rebel groups begin uniting. Cuba begins blatantly providing these rebels with large amounts of supplies and advisers. The movement grows rapidly and in a few short months becomes one of the largest insurgencies in Latin America. It has cells operating in slums and countrysides. Mexico appears to be in trouble.
*Cuba holds a massive funeral for Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Representatives from all major Communist movements are invited to attend this funeral. Fidel Castro gives a stirring speech where he vows to fight on to end Capitalism and Empire. Speeches and writings by Che are delivered to leftist groups across the globe. Cuba’s popularity rises.

Asia
* Pakistan begins implementing the techniques of the Green revolution that have been very successful in India. The economy grows as a result.
*Pakistan makes several brazen military moves. First it begins the development of a nuclear weapons program. Expect expect Pakistan to have Nuclear Weapons by Early 1971. India strongly condemns this move.
*Pakistan also announces a general draft and expands its army by 4 units. Talking heads across news stations ponder if war is going to Asia.
* In Kashmir, muslims hold several strikes and protests demanding that Kashmir be allowed to decide its own fate. This adds to the tension in the region.
*The USS Pueblo, a naval spy ship, is attacked and captured by North Korean forces who claim it entered their territorial waters. 82 of its crew are captured, with 1 killed in the attack.
*Nauru becomes independent from Australia.
*The Bonin Islands are returned to Japan after 23 years of occupation by the United States Navy.
*After the end of the previous conflict 8 years ago, the Malayan Communist Party launches a second insurgency, ambushing security forces in the north of Peninsular Malaysia. Their bold attacks win them several early victories
*The Cultural Revolution continues in China, with the chaos created by the Red Guards continuing. Factional infighting continues, as do purges. Mao encourages the Red Guards to turn their attention against Tibetan theocrats and the imperialists’ cities in China.
*Tet Offensive: Taking advantage of the lull in West activity, the forces of North Vietnam launch the Tet Offensive. Showing a shift to a more Maoist and Focal understanding of warfare, the North Vietnamese forces focus upon quickly hitting US military bases and Vietnam forces and then retreating into the countryside if they are attacked. They simultaneously hit many US positions across the country.
*Four Vietnamese Forces take part in this offensive. The massive assault takes place on the Holiday of Tet, hence its name. The initial assault is an overwhelming success, as it quickly destroys poorly held posts in South Vietnam. South Vietnam loses one unit in clashes with Northern Forces. US and Southern forces are quick to respond to the assault and bring heavy ordinances and firepower to bare. Northern Forces retreat, but they lose one unit as some of their positions are surrounded.
*Viet Cong forces also fighting alongside their Northern allies kill one unit of South Vietnamese forces but at a loss of one of their own. South Vietnam is destabilized and the war seems to be going in favor of the North.
*After the momentum and excitement of the Tet Offensive, the Viet Cong recruit one unit to replace those it lost.
*North Vietnam expands its military, drafting even more of its population into the Armed services. The government declares a Total War for the liberation of the south.
*German chemical giants begin investing in Indonesia. The firms plan on using Indonesian oil to produce fuel and plastics. On the invitation of the Indonesian government German Chemical giants such as Bayer and BASR will set up chemical plants to use the Indonesian oil industry to produce large quantities of fuel and plastic goods.
*The Indonesian parliament appoints Suharto to be president.
*The Indonesian government begins to invest in Infrastructure and natural gas and petroleum production. Combine with foreign investments, this leads to great growth for Indonesia.
*Refugee camps are set up in Indonesia to give shelter to those who have been displaced in post-coup chaos.
*Working alongside government agents, US oil firms begin to invest in Indonesian oil production. These oil and natural gas projects lead to great booms in Indonesia’s production.
*The Soviet Union also invests in Indonesia’s oil sector. Many communists around the world are shocked at the USSR as Indonesia has just brutally suppressed the Communist party. With Both the USA and the Soviet Union investing in Indonesia, economist fear that the Indonesian oil market as become oversaturated with capital for the size of its oil production.
*Subversive literature starts to flood East Timor, encouraging the people to resist the colonial government. This causes a drop in the stability of the local regime, as some individuals do engage in acts of protest and strikes.
*A propaganda campaign in Indonesia touts the improvement the new regime is brining. It paints the old regime as a corrupt and lawless period and promises the future will be better. The people agree and the popularity of the regime rises.
*Indonesian security forces successful infiltrate the Free Papaun movement and arrest its leadership.
*Indonesia launches assaults against communist holdouts, successfully crushing them.
*American firms also invest in the Grasberg Mine. This mine is one of the largest producers of Copper and Gold. This material production expands the Indonesian economy and provides benefits for American firms.
*Aid from Vietnam reaches the Pathet Lao. The movement is growing in strength and its armies are advancing on the Capital of the Kingdom.
*The Khmer Rogue also grows in strength. Factional shifts and infighting take place, as some leaders begin to resist the authoritative tendencies of Saloth Sar.
*Finally, the People’s Army in Burma also grows in strength.

Europe

*An anti-Vietnam War protest in London leads to violence, with 91 injured and 200 arrested.
*Arson attacks occur at 2 Frankfurt department stores. They are claimed by the culprits to be in protest of events in Vietnam.
*Spokesperson and leader of the West German student movement Rudi Dutschke survives an assassination attempt by a young anti-communist.
*West German left-wing students blockade Springer Press in West Berlin in protest of the negative coverage of the student movement.
*Conservative politician and Shadow Defence Secretary Enoch Powell makes a highly controversial speech criticising immigration and the proposed Race Relations Bill. In the ensuing furore he is dismissed from the Shadow Cabinet, but retains widespread support amongst the right wing in Britain.
*Against a background of a rising left-wing and student unrest, far left parties see marked successes in the Italian elections. Aldo Moro's centre-left coalition collapses and is replaced by a solely Christian Democrat minority government.
*Several Members of the United Kingdom Parliament give speeches in support of the Nigerian government. They argue that allowing Biafra to leave Nigeria would create a dangerous precedent for the rest of Africa, which is filled with unhappy ethnic groups.
*Likewise several prominent Academics publish an article calling upon the USSR to provide support to Nigeria, arguing that Biafra is a neocolonialist puppet state that the West is using to try and seize Nigeria’s oil.
*West Germany begins fortifying the Fulda gap. The German government begins construction a series of fortifications supported by mine fields and tank traps. Several communist figures condemn this action as a provocation by the West.
*The West German government also recruits two new military units. This move brings whispers of concern among even some NATO members of a return of German militarism. German leaders stress this move is necessary in light of Soviet aggression.
*The German government begins massive investments into the consumer electronics fields. Firms like Siemens reap the benefit of new government subsidies and the economy begins to boom. The German government pledges a major investment in new technological companies in the field of consumer electronics. Siemens amongst others are encouraged to invest in transistors as to make electronic devices smaller and more affordable.
*The Communist and Socialist Parties of France have formed an alliance with the explicit goal of getting Charles DeGaulle removed from office. On 22 March far-left groups, a small number of prominent poets and musicians, and 150 students occupied an administration building at Paris University at Nanterre and held a meeting in the university council room dealing with class discrimination in French society and the political bureaucracy that controlled the university's funding. The university's administration called the police, who surrounded the university. After the publication of their wishes, the students left the building without any trouble.
*Strikes in Support of the Student’s spread to other Universities. These protests remain peaceful for the most part. Mixed signals are given in statements suggesting some government officials are blocking any efforts to use police force.
*The protests inspire strikes by workers. These strikes are wildcat in their nature and often have radical demands. The strikes and protests spread across Paris and other parts of the Country. The French government and non-leftist media label these protestors and rioters as anarchists and nihilist. The general public agrees.
*The French government agrees to dissolve parliament and call for new elections. This response quiets the protests and strikes. To the surprise of many, the Gaullist party wins a crushing victory. Many site the even handedness of the Government in handling the protests as part of the reason why they won.
*Charles DeGaulle publicly criticizes Prime Minister Georges Pompidou and calls him a “weak leader”. Despite their victory, the Gaullist party is divided between a hard-line and reformist faction.
*After the electoral defeat, the French Communist party begins advocating revolutionary methods. Its leadership claims that Gaullist Financial interests rigged the election and that an alliance with revisionist socialism is handicapping the party.
*French Communist Party members carry out a bombing at a bank in Paris. Afterwards the police raid a hideout associated with the movement. There they find correspondence that suggests the Soviet Union had been aiding the movement.
*Yugoslavia begins a five year plan that emphasizes infrastructure and heavy machinery. The plan pays immediate dividends and Yugoslavia begins to have good economic growth.
*Demonstrations break out at various campuses in Poland after the government ends the screening of a Play. Security forces violently put down the protests and blame “Zionist” infiltrators for the actions. The anti-Semitic tone of the government leads to some prominent officials to resign and for jewish citizens to seek a way to leave the country.
*The Soviet Union begins a massive industrialization program in Siberia and Kazakhstan. These programs help vitalize periphery areas of the USSR and provide good growth. Alongside this, the Soviet Union begins to modernize its infrastructure program. The USSR attempts to copy the programs the USA pulled off in the 1950’s.
*Alexander Dubcek is chosen as leader of the communist party in Czechoslovakia. A noted reformer from the Slovak wing of the party, he ushers in a number of popular reforms.
*As liberalisation accelerates in Czechoslovakia, hard-line members of the party and fellow Warsaw Pact member states press for the changes to be reined in. Concerns as to the depth of the changes and the threat to communism both in Czechoslovakia and throughout Eastern Europe mount, as do concerns regarding potential Warsaw Pact intervention.
*In the Czech Republic, many people begin to turn against the current leadership of Alexander Dubček. They believe that his actions are dangerously antagonizing the fate of the country. The government continues with reforms, nonetheless. Opposition figures like Gustáv Husák, gain influence amongst the increasingly cautious Czech Communist party.
* The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo visited Belgium, as a guest of the royal family. This visit is marked by protests from many left-wing groups who argue that the family should not associate with such a killer. The police clamp down hard on these protests, which lead to larger counter-protests. As the first half of the year end, a general strike is called in Belgium.
* The Irish Republican army grows in Strength. It is able to carry out more effective terrorist attacks.
*After a few months of enthusiasm, the "I'm Backing Britain" campaign to encourage spontaneous extra work without pay collapses following government endorsement and other embarrassing events.

Middle East

*Border clashes occur between Israel and Jordan in the continuing aftermath of the Six Day War, which saw the loss of the formerly Jordanian-administered West Bank territory.
*Saudi Arabia Begins to expand the infrastructure involved in oil export and extraction. As a result Saudi Arabia’s oil sector expands.
*Additional the House of Saud begins a campaign to encourage its citizens to be more tolerant of foreigners. This includes a program where some Saudi students are set to foreign universities to learn about other cultures. Some Purist groan about these programs but most people remain indifferent.
*Several prominent Iman in Saudi Arabia give sermons on the situation facing Muslims in the Philippines. They argue that Muslims around the world are suffering under persecution by Catholic governments. As a result young Muslims are starting to show a willingness to travel to the Philippines to fight.
*Saudi Arabia recruits one unit.
*Saudi Arabia sends lots of aid to the Kingdom of Yemen forces. As a result these forces grow by three units. It appears momentum is on the Monarchies side.
*Not to be outdone, Iran sends aid to the Monarchist side. This aid from the two monarchies allows the Monarchist forces to launch an assault on the City of Sana’a which is currently under siege. Utilizing modern weaponry, the Monarchist forces and allied tribesmen are able to destroy to counter the Republican advantage in air power. With the capture of Sana’a, the Republican forces are driven into the countryside in the South. With much of its leadership fleeing the country or executed, many commentators believe the Republican’s time has ended.
* Saudi Arabia's actions in Yemen bring condemnation from the more radical arab states. They claim that Saudi Arabia violated the Khartoum agreement.
*France provides Iraq with aid to allow it to create nuclear power plants. These plants do not allow for on-site enrichment, thus diminishing their ability to be used for nuclear weapons. Iraq utilizes those plans to begin the construction of a new state.
*Iran also starts to develop a domestic nuclear energy program. Lacking outside help its program moves along slower than its Iraqi counterpart. Iran stresses that its program is peaceful and will only be used for domestic development.
*Iraq negotiations a peace treaty with the Kurdish rebels. The treaty calls for the creation of an Autonomous Region, consisting of the three Kurdish governorates and other adjacent districts that have been determined by census to have a Kurdish majority. The plan also gave Kurds representation in government bodies, to be implemented in four years. Kurdish forces refuse to disarm, fearing the government will renege on its agreements.
*The Syrian government continues its internal squabbles. It appears the ruling government grip on power is growing weaker.
*Hardline Salafist groups begin to grow in power in Kuwait. Many of the masses are attracted to listen to speeches given by exiled dissidents residing in the small state.
*The Dhofar Liberation front grows in Strength. It now possesses heavy weapons which it has used to great effect against the Sultan’s army. British intelligence reports that some of this aid came from the People’s Republic of China. This is confirmed with the British capture a Chinese agent.
*Propaganda is found in Oman calling on the population to carry out a people’s war and fight the British colonialists. The propaganda is poorly translated and is laughed at by the Omani population. Even during hard times, people find humor.
*Iran launches a program to increase recycling amongst its population. These “green” efforts provide some economic boosts as they cut down on the waist in the World’s economy.
*Iran begins a series of constitutional reforms. These reforms give the power of law approval to the Parliament. Only the Shah can propose laws, and he have a veto which can be overridden. Furthermore seats are provided to the representatives of all major religious groups, with only the followers of Bahá'í and Yarsanism being excluded. The Jewish seat also remains vacant out of protests of Israeli actions.
*The requirement of all laws having to pass a committee of Shia clerics is formally removed. This greatly upsets many religious shia who believe their kingdom is secularizing.
*Kurdish and Balochi dominant areas are given more autonomy to utilize their local languages and customs in government. Farsi still remains the language of higher administration and all citizens are educated in this language. Minority groups like this move.
*Evidence emerges that the UAR and Iraq have been sending weapons to Palestinian terrorists. Since the UAR and Israel are in a de facto state of war, no one is surprised by this.
*Israel formally annexes Samaria and Judea. Palestinians and the Arab world are outraged by these actions, but Israel looks on with indifference. Israel moves one unit into the West Bank, where it clashes with militants affiliated with the Palestine National Liberation Movement.
*Israel recruits one unit.
*Israel constructs a series of fortifications in the Sinai Peninsula. This allows its unit to dig in and defends itself against any Egyptian attacks. Israel also improves the logistical situation for the unit.
