*Spanish MPs call for the country to leave NATO. This creates discord within the government as it is officially a supporter of NATO. The military, a supporter of the BCO, faces a mutiny when several Generals refuse to meet with NATO liaisons.
*The Spanish military purges hundreds of officers who have ties to the BCO. Four of the eight MPs are arrested for collusion with a foreign power while the others resign.
*Polish citizens report exchanges of military equipment between Russian forces and Boris Vorshevsky’s forces.
*Greece begins construction of border walls with Bulgarian and Eastern Thrace. The Greek military aims to end illegal border crossing, arms smuggling, and people trafficking.
*Serbia follows suit and constructs theirs along the Bulgarian border.
*Greek troops and ships deploy to the Aegean Islands to hold refugees and halt their travel via land and sea. Deportations start immediately back to Eastern Thrace.
*The Golden Dawn government releases advertisements around the country encouraging Greek citizens to remember their history, language, and religion in the face of the chaotic world. Posters, signs, and billboards are defaced.

* Japan’s TSG raids the location of a known IS leader. Two terrorists including the leader are killed.
*The Philippines recruits another unit as part of their anti-drug operations with international agencies.
*Japan and Korea reach a new level of cooperation. Despite causing several protests in Seoul, the Korean government agrees to strengthen their military coordination with Japan. Part of the agreement allows Korea to send helicopter and jet detachments to Japan’s Izumo-class helicopter carriers and their future Iyo-class aircraft carriers that are due in E and L2018 (JS Iyo and JS Aki both based off designs of the USS John F. Kennedy).
*A combination road and rail link from Karatsu on Kyushu Island and terminating at Busan is also agreed on with a completion date of E2028. This is expected to boost both economies.
*Korea and Japan agree to purchase F-35C aircraft from the United States to fulfill the role needed for carrier based fighters.
*The first JAPANZUS naval exercise kicks off in the Western Pacific in May and set to conclude in July of L2017. American, Australian, and New Zealander forces take part in war games with Japan. Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam, and Brunei join as observers while the Philippines declines.
*The success of coordinating the exercise has allowed Japan to sell coast guard vessels to several ASEAN countries as well as make Japan an official member of ASEAN by E2018.
*Japan’s increased role in the Western Pacific has angered China and led to new low in their relations. China steps up their defenses with DF-21s placed along its coast.
*A cease-fire between the Filipino government and the communist New People’s Army is brokered by Norway.
*Marawi City Siege: Terrorist groups aligned with the Islamic State take control of the city of Marawi in the southern Philippines. The military surrounds the city and continues to fight block by block. MNLF and MILF fighters adhere to a cease-fire with the government and help evacuate citizens in the city.
*Unlike Mayotte, France has taken a strong interest in keeping French Polynesia and New Caledonia within its country. A “vote no” campaign begins on the islands. Scheduled for an E2018 referendum, France hopes this campaign will sway the vote. Aid is sent to help the two departments in mineral extraction and exporting.
*DPRK loyalists organize under the title Second Korean People’s Army with the aim of driving out the ROK government. American analysts connect them to the Chinese government.
*Chinese soldiers crack down on terrorism in Xinjiang. Surprisingly, reports of military police going to Hong Kong and Macau are also heard.

*Greek military aid reaches Syria. President al-Assad promises to use it to protect Greek artifacts and buildings.
*Two rebel groups pop up in Islamic State held Syria. Kurdish fighters from Kurdistan and Rojava (Kurdish Syria) take back most of their homeland while the Islamic State is distracted near Aleppo. The second, in the south, is comprised of anti-Assad and anti-IS forces both Sunni Arab and Druze.
*Judea and South Lebanon receive more Israeli aid much to the distress of the rest of the world who calls their occupation of both lands illegal.
*Israeli jets launch attacks on IS troops, halting an advance on Damascus.
*Two Serbian units join the anti-IS coalition in Syria. Their special forces conduct a raid on the Islamic State base in Daraa, forcing their surrender to Druze rebels.
*Kurdish forces push the Islamic State out of their country and back to Mosul.
*The Islamic State destroys what is left of the Kaaba and other Islamic relics, claiming it is idolatry. Their forces expand in the Arabian Peninsula.
*Jewish settlers in Judea are killed in car bombs executed by Hamas.

*Cities in eastern Ukraine fall to Russian-backed rebels. While most of eastern Ukraine was captured by Russia years ago, rebels claim all of Ukraine as Novorossiya.
*Russia gains a unit.
*Marseille terrorist attack August 9: Three gunmen open fire on tourists on the beach. Estimates put the death toll at 26. All three are later shot dead by police who arrived after the attack begun.
*A Russian tourist is beheaded in the Montenegrin city of Kotor in Serbia. His yacht is also lit on fire. The assailant was not caught. Police suspect an Albanian was behind it.
*Russian troops conducting a routine patrol in Grozny are shot dead by Chechen rebels. A raid on the suspected gunman’s house reveals a weapons cache. Russian authorities demolish the home, leaving the man’s family homeless, as a warning to others.
*Economic refugees from Africa pour into Italy, causing a crisis. Italian coast guard and naval vessels do their best to turn the boats around and drop off captured immigrants in BCO-held Libya. General Haftar threatens Italian vessels who violate Libyan sovereignty to dump refugees in their country.
*Six units from the UK are deployed to Northern Ireland. What started as an insurgency has now developed into a full scale war. Two British helicopters have been shot out of the sky and nearly one hundred soldiers have been lost to gun fights and car bombs. Both the IRA and UDA lose control over the cities and each shrink by a unit.
*A media campaign to urge fighting to stop in Northern Ireland backfires. What was aimed to scare those fighting into agreeing to a cease-fire instead frightens the civilians who fear they can be accidentally killed in the cross-fire.
*As if things couldn’t get worse, Prime Minister Nigel Farage faces an enormous crisis when it is revealed that members of his inner-circle had been purchasing ancient relics, treasures, and other priceless artifacts with government money in a bid to preserve them from war. Artifacts looted from Palmyra, Apamea, Mosul, and Ur made their way from the hands of the Islamic State to the United Kingdom. The press was tipped off after a British MP had tweeted about the necessity for him to protect the tomb of Suleyman Shah in Syria and days later video footage was released of IS fighters taking apart the tomb and boxing it up. No criminal connection has been linked to the Prime Minister but his government has been severely shaken.
*President Trump tweets, “UK buys artifacts from IS but media is focused on me. FAKE NEWS!”
*SNP leaders walk out of a meeting with the Farage government after it is brought up that they would lose nuclear and military protection. They don’t want nuclear weapons…that’s their point. Prime Minister Farage tries to make up for the embarrassment of a meeting by encouraging investments in Scotland which helps only slightly.
*While Greece’s economy is failing and refugees use their country as a doorway to Europe, their government has decided to instead focus on minute details of the Orthodox Church in Istanbul and Cyprus. President Michaloliakos was recorded going on a rant about “Two Islams” but no one has paid any attention.

*Poland’s military reorganizes in the western part of the country and is poised to retake the country. Vladimir Makarov is believed to have fled the country with most of his trusted advisors with the exception of President Boris Vorshevsky. A similar situation is developing in Czechia but this time with the populace fighting back.

*The first JAPANZUS exercise concludes, strengthening ties between the four countries.
*President Trump visits Hanoi and makes a promise to stand by Vietnam and that his new sale of weapons will show his support. He then said, “With these Vietnam boys on our side we won’t have any trouble sending China back, kicking and screaming.”
*An illegal mosque in Kazakhstan is shut down by Russian soldiers.
*Japan’s Prime Minister meets with his counterpart in Korea where they discuss refurbishing old DPRK factories. Toyota and Nissan heavily invest in these old factories bringing 6,000 jobs to the north. Relations and Korea’s economy grows stronger.
*Cambodia’s government meets with Japanese diplomats to discuss a stronger friendship. Details of the meeting reveal that they were unable to come to an agreement. The United Nations mission to Cambodia was unable to comment.
*President Duterte orders two units to invade Marawi and captured the Islamic State rebels. The assault is a disastrous nightmare with heavy losses on the government’s side. Filipino Generals argue with each other about the best course of action without any sort of plan. The military is forced out of the city and retreat to the outskirts of the island.
*India goes on the offensive and launches airstrikes on the Islamic State in Pakistan and the Naxalites in their country. Although their numbers are low, their Air Force is able to successfully take out strategic and communications centers that both rebels had been using. They also recruit two more units before launching a massive assault on the Naxalites. Ten units take part in the five-month campaign that will continue into the new year. Losses are numerous on both sides, with the Naxalite forces cut in half and the Indian military losing 40% of their forces.
