The People's Armed Police, which oversees border security issues with foreign nations as well as Hong Kong and Macau, has been conducting routine patrols and surveillance activities alongside the borders of both Special Administrative Regions. These forces are a traditional gendarmerie, much the same as any other nation, and their activities are neither unusual nor martial or nature. Furthermore, while it is true that, due to the interference of foreign powers within the Special Administrative Regions, the Public Security Police Force of Macau and the Hong Kong Police Force have allowed the mainland Ministry of Public Security special oversight over their functions, responsibility for those functions - this alleged "military police" presence the British government refers to - remains in the hands of Hong Kong's Police Tactical Unit and Macau's Tactical Unit of Police Intervention.

Surely, with this in mind, the British government must admit that the request to withdraw police forces from their traditional, legally-defined roles is an absurdity. Or is it perhaps that there is something of an ulterior motive behind the request, and Britain no longer respects Chinese sovereignty over Hong Kong and Macau as agreed upon in the Sino-British Joint Declaration and the Joint Declaration on the Question of Macau, respectively?

We only whish to have peace in the region, and with recent protests in Hong Kong over
problems with china we where only worried that china was using more than normal force.

if all you said is true and we do believe you then neither side has anything to worry about
as we are only trying to protect Hong Kong way of life [as stated in said treaty there way of
life will not be infringed apound for 50 years, or 2047] and wanted to check to make sure
nothing was happening, thank you for your openness on this matter
