UNGA: Israeli Aggression Against Palestine

if you try to force both sides to an agreement only liked by one side or no one likes your just pushing the problem down the line even more, this whole mess in this region is caused by one side feeling like they didn't get a good deal [then attacking the other, the other side wins and then attacks the other side].

We will accept that this problem is at least in part our fault and will happily work to get both sides, if not happy then at least not angry.

we agree that what Israel did was extremly wrong and it should not be forgotten but we have tried doing this sort of stuff in this region, it does not work and will only breed hate and an idea that one race/religion is better than the other, which will cause future UN diplomats to have to deal with this problem

We request that if the United Kingdom has further insight to add to this conversation, they do so in a manner that isn't entirely reminiscent of a child in a schoolyard. We are speaking of the lives of millions here, not a popularity contest: the time for restraining our anger passed when the governments of the world were not tacitly endorsing the genocide of Arabs.

Ok if that's the case how about this, we set up a international conference between the UK, Israel and Saudi Arabia to work out where these boarders are and put an end to this whole mess instead of letting more time past where innocents can be killed [occ like right now]

As previously stated, Saudi Arabia does not recognize and will not negotiate with the State of Israel. If diplomacy is the wish of the United Kingdom, however, we advise them to reread the text of this resolution, which calls for neutral, indirect talks.

Due to recent upsets within the UK the UK will have to change its vote back to abstain, we wish to say that we are sorry to the nation of Israel due to this, but we believe it better to prevent World War III between China and NATO to take the lead in what we do than with Middle Eastern affairs that are currently cold.

Secretary-General U Thant

At the present, there are:

5 YES votes (Saudi Arabia, France, Pakistan, Romania, Soviet Union

1 NO vote (Israel)

2 ABSTAIN votes (China, United Kingdom)

At the present, there is insufficient support for it to pass.

the UK changes its vote to NO and urges the rest of the commonwealth to do the same, we can NOT be going at each others throats when we face a possible extinction of the human race by aliens

The Saudi Permanent Representative leans in towards his microphone, taps it twice, and sighs as loudly as humanly possible.

Brazil vote NO, we do not believe there is sufficient evidence in favour of this resolution for us to justify supporting it

The Israeli people are glad to have the support of Western powers against this attempt to isolate the people of Abraham from the rest of the world in preparation for future Arab pogroms against our homeland.

The Zionist entity continues to espouse meaningless drivel in the attempt to distract the world from their brutal policies and outright illegal actions. I wish that I might express my surprise at this, but the betrayal of the Palestinian cause by the British government -twice in this session, countless times outside of it- is something we know well.

Furthermore, the notion that the West stands behind the apartheid State of Israel is a foolish one - see the example of our courageous French friends, may God guide them. Less reassuring, but certainly more condemning, is the insistent on the Zionist occupation behind a matter of the defense of the 'Children of Abraham', an obvious euphemism that shows that the Israeli state cares little for those not of the Jewish religion, despite previous claims to be protecting the rights of Christians and Muslims alike.

Lastly, the Grand Mufti (as well as, presumably, those who have studied theology in its most basic forms) wishes to remind the Zionists that if by the grace of God they truly do wish to protect the descendants of Ibrahim, they must therefore extend that protection to the descendants of Ismail, who remains buried in Mecca.

That is, of course, unless Israel denies that the religious motive to their actions, which returns us to the matter of modern international law.

Though we must vote yes in this matter, we wish to make it known that this is not meant as a full condemnation of the State of Israel itself, nor of it's people. We believe that mediation and peace is possible in the region, and would happily invite Israeli and Palestinian delegates to meet in a neutral space to discuss their differences, if only on a temporary basis. While we understand there are strong opinions on both sides, we should like to remind everyone that there is a much greater issue to attend to at present. If the Israeli and Palestinian people cannot come to some sort of ceasfire, it only increases the risk of their quarrels meaning nothing, as they too are swept away by the Posadist threat.

Yugoslavia shall, if necessary, open itself to mediate such talks. We wish only the best for both our Israeli and Palestinian friends.
Not actually an ancap, thank God.
