Firstly, I would like to, in the name of His Majesty's government, congratulate you and your government in the re-establishment of peace and social order in Brazil. We fully comprehend that the years of civil war and unrest did great damage to the Brazilian nation, yet HM's Government has absolutely no doubt that your administration will be quick to begin immediate reconstruction efforts to revitalize the Republic and bring it back to its pre-civil war standards.

Secondly, as the new Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, it is also my responsibility to address the matter of Brazilian debt owed to my country. During the civil war, the previous ministry headed by the Rt. Hon. Stanley Baldwin loaned a significant amount of government funds to the administrations of your predecesor and your own, with the objective of using such funds to cover the large costs of fighting the military mutinies and the far left revolts that erupted across your country. Seeing as the conflict has, thankfully, come to a peaceful conclusion, the new ministry headed by the Rt. Hon. Ramsay MacDonald would like to inquire into the matter of the repayment of the debt. While HM's Government understands that the nation has freshly come out of a period of political instability, we are slightly unsettled that, to our knowledge, no effort has yet been taken by your Administration to resume payments of the Brazilian debt, be it to the United Kingdom or to any other nation who Brazil owes credit to. Thus, in the name of HM's Government, we would request some clarification into the matter.

To the Rt. Hon. Arthur Henderson,

On behalf of the Brazilian government I would like to thank you for your congratulations and well wishes. The civil war was a tragic event in Brazilian history, one that we hope can quickly be put behind us as things begin to return to normal in our nation. We too hop that it is a swift process before we return to the way things had been.

As for the matter of th debt, we are grateful for the economic assistance provided during the civil war and have every desire to repay the loans that were provided in full. Though no effort has been made as of yet we were planning to address that matter as part of the process when coming up with next years budget, to work out a schedule of payments until the loans have been fully paid off. I hope that the British Government finds this satisfactory.

As always, I wish to reassure you that Brazil is friends with the British Empire, and hopes to remain that way.
