Dano-Brazilian Friendship Bill
Whereas a grand celebration of the grand 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of the United States of Brazil and the Kingdom of Denmark is planed for the final days of 1929,
Whereas a Danish cultural office was opened in Rio de Janeiro in 1922,
Whereas parts of the Danish Royal Theatre, operated by the Danish Ministry of Culture, was destroyed in a fire on July 19th this year,
Whereas Denmark was plunged into a tragic recession in 1926, due to poor harvests and German customs, resulting in an unemployment of a staggering 30% and a lack of state funds,
- Section 1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the United States of Brazil shall during the 100th anniversary festivities donate an entirely symbolic sum of 100 Brazilian Reals to the Danish chargé d'affaires to Brazil, for use in the reconstruction of the damaged Danish Royal Theatre, as an act of friendship and cultural exchange.
- Section 2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the United States of Brazil shall, via the Danish cultural office in Rio de Janeiro, send a troop of Mamulengo actors to perform at the Danish Royal Theatre upon the completion of its repairs, to display this ancient part of Brazilian cultural heritage and share it with our Nordic friends.
- Section 3. This bill shall go into effect thirty-one (31) days after passage.
