This is straightforward enough, gentlemen.
Recognition of Afghanistan Act
Whereas Mohammed Nadir Shah, the former Minister of War and likewise former Ambassador to France, has established a new government of the Kingdom of Afghanistan, and been crowned King, following a long period of civil war,
Whereas the new Government has been recognised by the Soviet Union, France, and other states of the world, which Brazil should strive to stand equal to on the international stage,
Whereas the Republic of the United States of Brazil does not currently, nor has ever before, extended diplomatic recognition or relations towards any Afghan state,
Whereas Brazil should strive to support reconciliation and peace across the world, given its own recent history of domestic strife,
- Section 1. The Republic of the United States of Brazil shall issue a telegram of full diplomatic recognition to the Government of the Kingdom of Afghanistan, via Mr. Habibullah Khan Tarzi, the Temporary Representative to the French Republic, stationed in Paris.
- Section 2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the United States of Brazil shall be called upon to establish contact with the Government of the Kingdom of Afghanistan for the purpose of discussing consular services, to service any possible future Brazilian travellers to the Orient.
- Section 3. This bill shall go into effect thirty-one (31) days after passage.
