You all know the drill - announcements, deadlines, inaccuracies, questions, OOC conversation, etc., all goes here.

Welcome all. Here are a few simple rules/announcements to make this game pleasant and, more importantly, avoid me stabbing someone. Also to keep from enabling Gesar's alcoholism, but let's be real, I'm the centre of attention here.
This game will be a little bit different to most other games I've run, in that some things I've typically done will be missing. These include:
1. Turn deadline reminders. These may be posted if I have the time, but players should assume that the time stated after I post the news is the only notification they'll receive - the next one will be when the turn is up and they've already missed it.
2. Turn tracker. These are fiddly to use, the red-green method is irritating for colour blind users (we all-ability-accessible now), and no one pays attention to them anyway.
3. A considerable number of fucks.
Hah hah hah.
I also have the following
requirements when sending turns. Please note that these
must be adhered to or your turn
will not be processed. This is a little unfair in principle, obviously we're all here to have fun and play games, but fundamentally these rules are designed to make running the game easier, which makes the game better for everyone and prolongs its lifespan.
Without further ado, players must:
1. Reply to my initial turn PM. This contains your credits (it's useful if you "quote" instead of "reply" so I have a reminder of how many credits you have) but more importantly contains the correct title formatting to ensure your turn is filed correctly by the forum's automatic system. No filing, no reading, no processing.
2. Re-send turns in their entirety when making amendments or additions. It is confusing and fiddly to deal with your initial turn PM, as well as a number of "addendum" PMs containing new orders, contradicting previous orders, etc. If you have changes to make, send everything again or only your initial PM will be processed.
3. Limit turn PMs to less than 1000 words. In the interests of fairness, this is a strict limit. 1000 words is a lot, plenty for any players. In my experience GMing the majority of players rarely reach beyond 500 words. For reference, this whole post is
only 534 words. If your turn is complex,
please speak to me in advance so less time is spent explaining in your turn. If your turn is not complex, a novel is not required to convey your instructions. Links and quotes remain welcome.
There is a fourth requirement, but it's so important I'm splitting it out. Your turns must be in the following format (or equivalent). The key is to convey these details:
- How many credits you started with.
- What action you are doing, as named in the rules.
- How much each action costs.
- The final number of credits at the end of your turn.
USA - [BANKED AMOUNT]
-[00]: [WHICH ACTION]. [Description].
-[00]: [WHICH ACTION]. [Description].
-[00]: [WHICH ACTION]. [Description].
-[00]: [WHICH ACTION]. [Description].
[TOTAL SPENT]/[BANKED AMOUNT] = [FINAL CREDIT AMOUNT]
In order to make the game run more smoothly and easily, please abide by these rules. We're all sensible enough people, so I don't intend to issue any reminders of these rules beyond this post.

Stats have been posted in something approximating their final form - please feel free to run through and point out the inaccuracies, there are bound to be some.
You may also notice that everyone has an ungodly-huge income per turn. This is intentional.

GAME RULE CHANGES:
Alerting players to new changes I'm making to the rules since I posted them:
1. I'm changing the way national debt works. Essentially, the penalty for deficit spending is changing so that whatever you deficit spend doubles when it becomes national debt. For example, deficit spending 50 credits becomes 100 credits of debt. If this proves counterproductive to my aims with it, or pointless, I'll ditch it, but we'll stick with it for now.
2. Economic investment is being changed internally so that it ends in failure slightly less often. You're still not encouraged to spend all game dumping credits into your economy though.
3. The usual function of "sending credits" is being split into two actions: "Send Aid" and "Make Loan". Aid has no requirement of being paid back, but if used too frequently or in too large amounts will cause harm to popularity. Loans, of course, imply being paid back. I'll be keeping track, but broadly speaking it will be up to players to track loans they make, agree terms of any loans, etc. If you make loans and forgive them too often or forget to pursue them, this will have a more harmful popularity impact than merely sending aid.
4. I'm also introducing the World Bank - see the dedicated thread for details on its workings.
Feedback welcome.

News from E1985 is up (many thanks to my co-GM), and the NPC stats have been split off because shit's too long.

I can see people are fans of big images in threads, embassies in particular. Lets tone it down a touch, yeah? No one wants to scroll for five minutes to get to the bit they actually give a shit about.
Especially flags - 100 to 200px in size is more than enough for anyone. Don't make me go around deleting flags from posts.

Turn PMs are out. Deadline is Friday 24th August 2018.
Banked credits are a little lower than we've usually done, but as noted previously, the credit income per turn is much higher. I'll consider alternatives if any issues arise.

I created this thread since there wasn't one and I couldn't let my obsession with Lebanon go to waste.

This groups should have a small presence. They are a sunni religious group operating in Lebanon at this time period. Pretty successful in Tripoli. They operate outside any of the main alliances.

Turn is up. Next deadline is Friday 7th September 2018.
Some statistics, we had more than 30% of turns that came in that didn't meet the rules I set out in the first post of this thread. In the interests of fairness, warnings were issued and we rolled along as normal. If we could please try and keep to these very simple, easy guidelines, it'd make things much easier to process.
By and large though, nicely done.

Given the delays and confusion arising of late, I have extended the deadline until Sunday 9th September so that people can figure out what they’re doing.
I haven’t looked at my PMs, so if you wish to edit your turns just change them in your Outbox and I’ll be none the wiser. I don’t want to see twenty PMs amending or re-doing things.

Apologies for the delays all, I fell asleep accidentally on Tuesday instead of processing.
Turn is, nevertheless, up. Please let me know if there were any inaccuracies or things missing and you want to query why.
Deadline: Sunday 23rd September 2018
United Nations votes stuff will be up just as soon as Gesar and I get a chance to look at NPC voting since we're not doing it blindly bloc-by-bloc.
I have feedback on my turn submission rules, which everyone is following (mostly) excellently. And no warnings given out this turn! Other things:
- You don't need to keep the square brackets "[]" from my example turn layout. They're demonstrative only. I'm not that insane, people.
- The Political Opposition action is for non-aggressive groups. If you want to send arms and aid, use the Send Aid action.
- Flamelord, you cannot do maths but it's okay. If you have 100 credits and spent 30, the end of your turn should look like EITHER: 30/100 = 70 OR: 100 - 30 = 70. Easy.

Turns are slowly trickling in, we're a little bit past 50%, so I'm extending the deadline for turn submissions to this evening (Monday 24th September) to let stragglers get theirs in.

Apologies for the delay on that one, delaying the deadline and hitting the working week is not a fun one.
Anyway, turn is up and PMs are out. Let me know if there are any inaccuracies or you have any question.
Deadline is Friday 12th October. This way I can process on the weekend and get things out more promptly.
ALSO
I'm doing a new thing with Headlines this turn - there'll be a bonus for writing about it at all, and an additional bonus if you write a winner. More details when those actually go up.

Yet another delayed turn - but we had the double-whammy of "I was on holiday when the deadline hit" and "fitting in processing during the working week is hard". Anyway, it's done now.
Deadline is Friday 9th November.

I've merged the "organise economic sabotage" and "organise terror campaign" into one action, cleverly called - you guessed it, "organise sabotage/terror campaign". Credit cost averaged out at 25c from the two previous figures of 30c and 20c.
Anyone who either won the Headline bonus for it last time or wins the bonus this time, please read this as a free "organise sabotage/terror campaign" action.
