CHINESE DELEGATION TO ATTEND LEIPZIG CONFERENCE

Foreign Minister Sòng Zǐwén confirms that, as the nation which launched the earliest resistance to fascism and faced down the Imperial Japanese threat alone, fighting valiantly before winning a crushing victory over the forces of imperialism, China would send a delegation to the Continental Conference of the Liberated Peoples of Europe.

Invited to attend as observers by the United Socialist Workers’ Party of Germany, Sòng affirmed China’s long-standing commitment to resistance against imperialism, colonialism, and fascism, and the desire of the National Party to build a prosperous China in line with Sun Zhongshan’s 三民主义 (sānmín zhǔyì): people’s government, people’s power, and people’s welfare.

The Republic of China hereby announces the establishment of the Sino-Ryukyuan Cultural and Economic Office - a new department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Headquartered jointly in Nanjing and on Okinawa, the SRCEO is tasked with directing and overseeing cultural and economic exchange between the China and the Ryukyu Islands.

A brief statement from the government expressed that the task ahead was vital to the future of the Ryukyu Island chain, in particular the prosperity and cultural revival of its inhabitants, and predicted that the SRCEO would play a crucial role in interactions with the UN Trusteeship Authorities - which are, of course, jointly Chinese and American.
