Republic of China

The government of the Republic of China formally requests that the British administrative authority in Hong Kong and the British government in London immediately convene, in cooperation with Nanjing, a new comprehensive tribunal to adjudicate on war crimes and crimes of collaboration carried out in Hong Kong.

It is our present understanding that the British administrative authority has launched some military tribunals into war crimes carried out, but that these are strictly related to occupying Imperial forces, and furthermore are scanty in number. There is a pressing need not only to expand the scale of these tribunals, but also their scope - so that collaborators from within Hong Kong society can be rooted out and justly punished for their crimes against the Chinese people.

We hope to be assured of your cooperation and support in this matter.

This is clearly a necessary action, and as such, an expanded tribunal will be established to which Republic of China officials will be invited to participate - particularly given the need to identify those individuals who may have in recent times fled the Republic of China in an effort to avoid justice for their crimes during the War. There should be no safe havens for fascists in this world.
