Huojin had an idea to do an accurate-to-life space race. I liked that idea. The first question, of course, is "Who gets to be America". Weighing the pros and cons of historically not making it to the moon first versus having to build a working space shuttle, I decided to be the USSR. Sadly, I had forgotten how absolutely insane the N1 rocket was at the time.

In any event. Here is Sputnik 1.
