...We are here at the capital of Bharat, where Prime Minister Indira Gandhi will make her speech on the developing situation in Eastern India and Eastern Pakistan.

"Ladies and Gentlemen,

People of India, People of the Subcontinent, People of the world. We achieved our freedom by a peaceful revolt, as our political leaders refused to remain under the control of the British, but they also refused to fight a war that would cost the lives of millions and cause untold suffering. And for their peaceful protests, for the brutal suppression they suffered, in the end they won. But it takes both sides to make amends, as much as the Indians were unwavering, the British were chose to end their reign of terror instead of continue fighting a desperate fight that would turn a whole nation, a whole subcontinent against them.

The same however cannot be said of the Pakistanis. WE are all accustomed to Pakistani aggression, as they still subjugate our brothers and sisters in the Kashmir. However, Pakistan is a country divided, it is a country of extremes and while West Pakistan fights, murders and tortures, East Pakistan works, toils and tries to live a peaceful life. I have here in-front of me, a simple statistic, let me read it for you fellow Indians."

The crowd remains silent, as the almost muffled noise of papers echoes through the microphones, Mrs Ghandi continues..

"East Pakistan has a majority of the population of Pakistan, but represents only 5% of the Pakistan armed forces! How is that possible you ask, fellow Indians? Unlike India, with its fair treatment of all races and people, Pakistan believes that the Bengalis are not "military inclined", they believe that the people of Bengal are to be ruled over like dogs, not given the right to defend their land. But even worse, while East Pakistan brings a huge part of the Pakistani budget, it only gets 40% of said budget back to itself, without any contracts, advancement of the people, the workers or the economy!

This, proud people of India, means that your brothers and sisters in Bengal suffer under a vicious occupation, which removes from them the right to fight, to live, to love and takes all, but brings little in return. This has lead us, the Government of Free India, to believe that the Bengali people are better off alone, away from the tyranny of evil men.

You see, the Bengali people see this, and they cry out for their independence, for their freedom. But how does Pakistan answer to their call for independence? With violence and death, they have attacked and are attempting to destroy, squash and humiliate everyone who is willing to speak out against this great injustice. In light of this, India hereby declares its full support for the Bengali people and agrees to stand together, helping those that escape the oppressive dictatorship of Pakistan. We are going to open our borders to the refugees that are running from the opression and help give voice to them on the international stage.

I must however, share with you, my peace-loving people, that I am fearful about the international community's indifference over the conflict in East Pakistan. WE have seen again and again how the international community closes its eyes to this injustice. On one side, we have the West, under Nixon, a vain and cruel man who cares not about anything but his own interests. While indeed the relations between Pakistan and America have cooled, it is not a secret, that the West helped the Pakistanis in their aggressive wars against India, a crime that cannot easily be forgotten by India.

But it is not only the west, the communist states, under the guise of helping the worker, have helped oppression in their own ways. The Chinese rabble on our borders continues to lust after the Kashmir, while oppressing anyone who doesn't fit in their image of purity. But at the same time, they support Pakistan's military dictatorship in harshly raping, murdering and destroying everything that is holy. And at the same time, the Soviet Union, which claims to be friendly towards India's side of the conflict, also showed great overtures to one Ayub Khan who just recently ruled Pakistan, claiming that while a lot of countries are against Pakistani Soviet friendship, it will happen.

This, dearest India, means that the world might not stand with us, we have been betrayed on all sides, and only through affirming our neutrality can hope to see peace and the end of tyranny on the subcontinent. We will be open and happy to see any of the aforementioned states open and show its friendship to India, Peace and its people, against the Pakistani tyranny, but sadly, I see no such thing happening in the near future, as the world remains blind and uncaring, while Pakistan destroys a nation.

India, however, remains strong!"
