Recognition of the King of Spain

In light of his confirmation by the Cortes Generales and his making of a solemn oath to uphold to Constitution of Spain, the Kingdom of Italy extends formal recognition to His Majesty Filiberto I, By the Grace of God and will of the nation, King of Spain, Duke of Aosta.

The Italian people in particular endorse Filiberto I’s declaration of support for the 1869 Constitution, as a document fully involving the people in the political process, rather than relegating them to objects of the monarchy; guaranteeing their rights and freedoms, and doing away with restriction, lack of progress, and corruption that have spread deep into public life.

The United States Government has elected to recognize the Government of His Majesty Filiberto I as the legitimate Government of Spain. The current administration clearly does not have a popular mandate for its cruel and unusual actions.
