UNGA: Sino-Indian Conflict
Recognizing the recent eruption of warfare between two powers in Asia, the United States would call upon this body to uphold it's moral duty to adhere the peace. We would propose that, with the greatest of haste, the situation in Pakistan, China and India, be immediately ceased, and UN peacekeepers deployed to investigate the claims of both sides. Should any party in this conflict be revealed to have committed atrocities and human rights violations, the US would call upon this body to address those issues to the best of its ability.

Re: UNGA Sino-Indian Conflict

While we believe this resolution is much vaguer than, perhaps, some might desire, we applaud the USA for bringing this call for a ceasefire to the United Nations. An immediate end to hostilities, with troops holding their positions before more countries and superpowers are drawn in, seems necessary. To prevent further needless loss of life both civilian and military we call on the UNGA to support this, that UN aid may reach civilians in Bangladesh/East Pakistan as well as other military theatres; and that we may avoid the nightmare scenario of nuclear-armed states engaging in conventional warfare.
From Kashmir, to the Himalayas, to Assam, to Bangladesh: continued warfare can only lead to suffering. The two most populous nations in the world fighting a war of attrition would be senseless. Let us bring the concerned parties to the table', and give diplomacy a chance.
Zaire votes Yes, and further calls for the UNSC to also raise this most troubling matter.
