Each turn there will be some events which may be commented upon in the news. They will be posted in this thread, and the opportunity to write about them will last for that turn only. Writing in your national media about these Headlines will bestow certain specific benefits, and may also have wider global impacts. Sometimes I will give more than one option on what to write about, and if you wish, you may write on the two things and harvest double the benefits.
Participation is entirely optional, and players may utilise their national media for entirely different purposes if they wish, or only post about certain Headlines, or none at all. If you wish to write a headline, you may post it in your own personal Newspaper thread or in the Collective IC thread. It doesn't matter, as long as you clearly signal to me the specific post is a headline one.
There is also a catch: You can write the Headlines from different perspectives. Say you are leading a Republic with a Market Liberal government. While you certainly can write from the perspective of your government/ideology, you don't need to. As long as it is from someone within your nation, you're welcome to write on the event from any perspective you can. So back to the Market Lib example, you could write it from the perspective of a Syndicalist journalist, or a General with National Populist aspirations for example. You can write solely from your gov's perspective, but you are more than welcome to explore other points of view, and doing so will be looked favourably by me.
Instead of writing a more journalistic piece, you are also allowed to write a short story, centred around the headline, set in the KR world. Those will also be considered and looked on favourably by me.

PRESIDENT KERENSKY
January - April 1936
Having served as Russias head of state since the defeat of the Bolsheviks in 1920, President Alexander Kerensky did his best to forward a liberal and more progressive agenda in Russia in face of internal and external threats. How successful he was in accomplishing his objectives is highly debatable, but he was indeed credited with keeping the fragile Russian Republic united since its rebirth in 1920. However, the President's long tenure as head of state was brought to a swift end in the 27th of December, 1935, when on his way to the Russian Senate, Kerensky was shot and killed by an assailant of unknown allegiance, sending the Russian government into chaos. The future of the Russian Republic remains uncertain, yet historians are now beginning to analyse Kerensky's persona, his accomplishments, and above all, his failures. Write a piece on anything related to him, it can be an analysis of his presidency, his person, his ideals, his life as a whole, a piece on his assassination, anything that you wish.

BLACK MONDAY
May - August 1936
Black Monday has proven to be the most catastrophic economic crash in the history of mankind, far surpassing the crash of the American market that followed the fall of Britain and France to Syndicalism in 1925. Most nations have been affected, with their economies and peoples suffering the effects of the Crash. Those who were not affected directly, see it as an opportunity to further their political and ideological goals over the world. Write a piece on Black Monday, covering any part of it that you wish in whichever way you see.

THE RISE OF THE LEFT
May - August 1936
From Bolivia, Paraguay and Patagonia, to fields of China and the packed streets of Dublin and Madrid, the international left has seen a general rise in activity. All factions, from orthodox Syndicalists to Anarchists and the new Totalists, have seen a period of growth over the course of the last months, that have brought them in many places in direct conflict with the political powers of old. Write a piece on the rise of the Left internationally, covering any part of it that you wish in whichever way you see.

WAR ACROSS THE WORLD
October - December 1936
From the steppes of Mongolia to the isthmus of Panama, from the deserts of Iran to the jungles of Nigeria, the post-Weltkrieg world is once again swamped in chaos and violence. And now, with re-ignited tensions between the Internationale and the Reichspakt, many fear a second Weltkrieg may well soon be in the horizon. Write a piece on any of the wars currently taking place (or more than one), covering it in whichever way you see fit.

SHORT STORY
October - December 1936
We will go for something rather different this time, your objective will be to write a short story set in our Kasierreich universe, it may deal with whatever you like, and take whichever approach you wish for, exploring it in any avenue you like. If you chose to do yours set during a conflict, war or violent struggle, it can be considered a double headline and also win you the bonus of the headline above. So yes, go wild.
