German colonial activities in Eastern China begin to culminate with the establishment of a German administered trade zone over the areas of Shangdon Peninsula, and the island of Hainan.

In Qingdao city, German humanitarian aid begins to flow into the city, alleviating the area after desperate scorched earth tactics used by the Republic of China in the surrounding areas. Stricken refugees are welcomed to the German trade zone with open arms, whilst displaced Chinese citizens strong enough to fight against the warlord, Sun Yat Sin are being armed to fight.

In other news, after tensions got even higher between the Empire of Japan & Germany six months ago, the IJA attempted to land troops inside the German administered trade zone of Shangdong without permission. The attempt was seen as a hostile invasion force to which German ships promptly responded with fire. Japanese soldiers were lucky that their commanders lost their nerve, turned and ran.

In the wake of growing Japanese expansion in East Asia, the German goverment has elected to sign an East Asian defense pact with the Russian Empire. Given past successful talks with Russia over the Balkans to maintain peace, and the protection of Austro-German interests in Anatolia in the wake of the Ottoman-Balkan conflict, the German government is confident in the defense treaty.

The treaty works to ensure the saftey of the newly formed German trade zones in China, and continuance of a peaceful existance between the German and Russian Empires in East Asia.
