Re: Announcements and Deadlines
News up, everything else going up shortly. Figured I'd get you guys what I've done, rather than aim for a simultaneous update like I usually do. Mostly because holy fuck that turn was long haha.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
Radio updated.
Stock Markets updated.
State Department Report updated.
Congressional Register updated.
Cabinet Listing updated - reminds me, I still need details for 1 member from Progressive Liberals and 2 members from Progressive Moderates.
Plus added a listing for State Governors, plus some minor details about them that's far less in-depth than congressmen and so on, mostly because they're just extra-extra flavour, you're not expected to do anything about them or their elections.
PMs coming soon! Ish!

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
Turn PMs are all out, plus the party turn PMs. Turn Tracker reset.
Deadline: Saturday 7th March, 2200 UTC. That's like a week and a half from now. Lets see if we can't stick a little more closely to it, then we might get to the election before there's a real one in the USA.
BgKnight is also coming in as Republican Moderates. We'll get a sign up thing from him as soon as he's got time to post it, which is some time after Red Galaxy is closer to being ready.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
So all the people I'd normally call upon to help with fixing this map are busy gathering in a Bulgarian hellhole, so if there's anyone who's able to help me out and take this old districts map, colour each one white and add an (approximately) correct district number to those that we can (with something sorted out for Texas and the like where there's too many tiny ones), I'd be super appreciative and can give you all far more accurate electoral data, plus match Congressmen to their districts in a way where I'm not gonna forget and fuck it all up.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
I've fiddled with the descriptions for political parties and factions a little bit. To further elaborate, here are some comparisons for people:
Progressive Hard Left - Old Labour (in the British tradition)
Progressive Liberals - New Labour (in the British tradition)
Progressive Moderates - Halfway between modern Democrat Liberals and Moderates
Progressive Conservatives - Halfway between modern Democrat Moderates and Conservatives
Republican Liberals - Rockerfeller Republicans
Republican Moderates - right of the Republican Liberals, essentially regular Moderates
Republican Conservatives - Main Street Republicans, more or less
Republican Neo-Conservatives - your average NeoConservative today, except less hawkishly aggressive
And the Socialists don't require quite so much elaboration.
I also want to urge people to look at history for legislative inspiration. There've been plenty of laws passed you can twist to your own purposes. And there's failed bills around as well that are ripe for stealing.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
Two updates:
1. If you're here, you've probably noticed by now there are "Party Loyalty Reports" that have been sent to you all by PM. They're private, share them with others as you wish, but no one else gets that precise info from me - only hints and tips. They're not going to go out every turn, since it's a whole lot of effort, but maybe once a year or when there's a major event going on. Updates on someone's inclinations can be requested on an ad hoc basis. They're not loyalty to the overall party, but to your faction's leader/head.
2. If you also look at the Federal Records Center, you'll notice information now present on election results from any given candidate's most recent election, including whether they were an incumbent or a new candidate at the time. Once someone helps me out with a better congressional district map, I'll map it all for you guys for extra detail.
Enjoy!

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
Federal Records Center updated with detailed of the Defense Caucus in the Republican Party. Only done just now because I suddenly remembered I needed to do it.
Also going to take this opportunity to remind people the deadline is tomorrow, Sunday latest, and I have 1/10 turns. Please get a move on.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
6/10. Yesterday was technically deadline day, but Coinneach is on a train to Croatia or something and Gesar is playing host to some people, so I'm waiting a bit on their stuff. The turn is being processed anyway, but it'll be out once I've got their bits in. Which gives Seren and Flamelord time to send turns too, if they want.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
News updated, turn PMs all sent.
I'm super fucking drained, so Radio Lazer and the Markets will be up tomorrow. Deadline is Saturday 21st March.
Any questions and issues and stuff I will (very likely) have forgotten, please address them to the appropriate thread.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
Updated Cabinet listings, State Department foreign relations report, market index, and Radio Lazer.
As a side note, just to make it abundantly clear to people - I can give you in character advice and answers to questions if you, as a given person (it needn't be your main character, it could be a Cabinet Secretary or a secondary character or whatever), ask me as a given person (normally it'll be your Chief of Staff, Press Secretary, the head of some NGO or lobbyist group or a member of your caucus or another caucus, something like that) to do so.
Make use of this as you wish. But if you don't specify at least broadly, I can only give general GM-y answers.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
Well, I got into this thinking it was going to be different but it turned out to be just like real American politics so I am resigning and leaving it to you guys. Have fun.

Re: Announcements and Deadlines
There's now a listing for the House Judiciary Committee, since people have been asking me about bits and bobs, from Texas divisionism to impeachment, and the Judiciary Committee is therefore something we need to have. I fleshed it out a bit more so you can all actually discuss things in the event of, say, any kind of impeach-y proceedings.
