[HOUSE] MSA Condemnation of Racism in the USA and PSA

Post by Zar »

Representative Freeman, TX wrote: Concerning the continuing developments of both sides of our borders, I believe it is necessary to propose the following statement to be made by the MSA.
The Mountain States of America issues the following statement:

“The Mountain States of America officially condemns the human rights violations in the PSA and USA. We specifically demand the freedom of Bobby Seale and all African-Americans wrongly persecuted in these apartheid regimes.”
"I have no patience for injustice, no tolerance for government incompetence, no sympathy for leaders who fail their citizens."

Representative Cecilia Ortega, House Majority Whip wrote: I support this motion, though not wholeheartedly. I certainly stand with what I believe is the intent behind Representative Freeman's proposal, and yet I fear that the wording of this condemnation neither fully encompasses the depth of the injustice we see perpetuated by those who condemn us as threats nor seems sincere given no mention is made of racism too often found in the MSA. Therefore the Hard Left caucus puts forward a revised statement, which I feel should more fully capture the intent and drive to improve our country and the world that I see in my colleagues across either aisle.
“The Mountain States of America officially condemns institutionally perpetuated and ignored racism in any of the nations formerly part of the United States of America. Specifically the Mountain States of America denounces the systematic racism too often found in its past, and devotes itself to destroying the vestiges that may still remain in our nation. It condemns the hypocritical holding of Bobby Seale and other African-American men and women as political prisoners by the government of the Pacific States of America and its silence on the systematic jailing, enslavement, and murder of ethnic minorities in the so-called United States. We reserve special condemnation for the so-called United States that tries to malign the MSA as a threat to peace while murdering its own citizens and bombing its neighbors during peacetime, and in so doing only shows the world what they intend for the rest of the North American continent one day."
11 Progressive Hard Left votes IN FAVOR of the amended statement.
