Start a shooting war in orbit that becomes a shooting war on the ground? Hold hands and sing kumbaya with nukes... until we get into a shooting war anyways? Bullshit until we accidentally cause an apocalypse?

Our technology and weapons are, if anything, one of our biggest hindrances, especially our WMDs and heavy industry. The majority of our fleet and industry is already basically dead weight, only useful if we were about to trigger an apocalypse, and none of us wants that, so despite all of our shiny weapons and tech we all have our hands tied unless one of our players wants to start murdering everyone and end up causing more division causing us to go back ever further thus making our weapons and tech even LESS useful after we're all done dying.

The problem with Mutually Assured Destruction is that you cannot push one of the players to the point where they are willing to play. I am a military subfleet commander who's concern was the protection of Chinese interests and the pursuit of the terrorist/separatist factions. I have taken drastic action, but I had cause and I had reason to suspect this course best achieved all of my objectives.

Obviously, it's altered the game drastically in a regrettable fashion. It's also exactly in line with what Math described before he began his action, so I take little satisfaction in simply carrying out his design, but conferring with BgKnight tonight didn't dissuade me from this course.

So, Stance? Debate me.
Or send me hatemail because I probably deserve it.

Screw it, voicing this probably won't change anything but I also dislike everything suddenly ending in fire and flood, especially so early on and when a good number of people were asleep.

I fucked up relations with the xenos by pulling mankind's pants down, that is for sure, but there is world of difference between that and literally starting the apocalypse and killing practically everyone by blowing up the fucking icecaps and triggering a nuclear winter while in the middle of a global plague.

I am of course fine with the game ending, it is just a game after all, and I don't have any sort of retconn powers anyways, but I only thought it fair to be honest about what I thought about literally ending the game in fire.

Ignoring the political isolation, you literally shot an ally in the ass and ran away giggling. Early in the game while I was asleep.

Just to be clear.

Actually, on second thought, fuck it. I change my mind. Blowing up the world and crashing the game was a great idea.
