Just to add to this,
N. Vietnam and USSR's troop costs and locations need fixing.

Oh, and my foreign popularity is still the same? I thought it went up, there's lots in the turn that mentions it improving a lot.
(and just because we're on a new page, I'll just note I wrote stuff that was the last post on the previous page, pls don't miss it)

Roger that, I'll get on it. Feel free to post more, as the news will reflect the state of the discussion at edition close.Huojin wrote:Just to note the thing we were discussing in IRC: Changing the Egypt/Vietnam UN thing in the news to reflect that it's still ongoing, and perhaps adding a rule that if you post in a thread but don't vote explicitly (or make clear your intention to defer voting to a later stage), your delegation is deemed to either have not turned up for the vote, or to have abstained.
Hoo boy. I'll look into it and look y'all up on IRC, but this is kind of a doozy, as the reasons given in the News report are kind of my understanding of what happened, so while the Vietnam thing may play a role I'm not sure that it would necessarily alter the course of events. At any rate, promise I'll research and hear you out.Separately I'd like to object to the election of Nixon to the Presidency. LBJ is running again (incumbency advantage), and the Vietnam War has been going far better than historically. Even if you considered merely the close states in the historical 1968 election, LBJ would win - nevermind if you want to get into looking at the states he solidly won in 1964 that would have had to go red for Nixon to win.
I know it's typical of shitty writers to say "that's the idea." I mean, if a vague style were done right it would earn praise instead of confused looks. The idea is that the situation is in flux, at any rate, with the government giving in as historically but with the massacre detained, and with the Front being in this weird limbo where they're both persectued but safe from complete immediate annhihilation thanks to the presence of the UN. Guess I'll add a paragraph making the final situation a bit clearer. Sorry bout that. Also is there anything more you can tell us about the situation on the ground in Czechoslovakia? It's not abundantly clear to me exactly how things stand.
If I understand the Wikipedia article correctly, the last important Nigerian offensive against the Biafrans took place in May of '68, which succeeded in isolating them and turning the commercial bllockade into a siege, which is entirely fitting for a Ceasefire brokered at last turn's end (remember that the Northeners were very reluctant). I may be wrong, but it doesn't seem like game events have done anything to prevent the famine? This is not an attack on y'all, but, I mean, I did mention the blockade in the UN."Human rights groups from all over the world begin demanding immediate humanitarian relief for the people of Biafra, despite the fact that this is currently impeded by the military blockade." - would this blockade be... Nigeria? 'cuz the Biafran's have a land border with Cameroon if need be. If it's the UN you're thinking about, we instituted a mandatory arms embargo, not a blockade.
Fixed.Chinese don't have troops shown deployed to their border with the USSR.
Will get back to you on that.I also think North Vietnam's income is incorrectly calculated?
That... is actually a very good point, lel. Dunoo why I didn't catch that. fixed. And since, by the map, the pro-PRC faction holds Brazzaville (and is the remnants of the former-government), shouldn't they be listed as Congo-Brazzaville, with the coup perpetrators as the rebels?

Re: OOC, Innaccurracies and personal attacks on the GM's moral character
That's fair, but things have changed substantially from history. No Tet success, no public loss of faith in the war, no success for Muskie in New Hampshire which led to LBJ dropping out, no famous photos from said failed Tet offensive, no "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America", no large Democratic Primary contest, no assassination of Robert F Kennedy... Possibly a weaker showing for the Wallace/LeMay in the South...OYID wrote:Hoo boy. I mean Humphreys was only 0.7% behind on the popular vote. With the added bonus of LBJ being in the fight since the beginning, and being an incumbent? If LBJ lost, he'd be the first incumbent to lose since Hoover lost to FDR in 1932.
Not quite - their income doesn't match now.Fixed.Chinese don't have troops shown deployed to their border with the USSR.

The map is upside down.

I'd love it if someone else stepped up to run this, I think the game is in great shape. Although if there's anyone knocking around who would step into the USA, I could maaayyybbeeee handle it in my spare time for a little while.
