UNSC: Deployment of Peacekeepers to Bolivia

Post by OYID »

George W. Ball,
United States Ambassador to the United Nations

Gentlemen of the United Nations,
People of Earth,

There is no more time to waste. With the Global Emergency Ceasefire now going into effect and the Planet Earth Peace Process underway, it is time for this chamber to do its job and vote to send a Peacekeeping force into Bolivia to salvage the situation, stop the Alien invasion and give an unquestionable international backing to the legitimate government of said country. Each member nation should send as many troops as they are capable of, but truly this is no time for pettiness and we will surely see many examples of bravery and Human generosity.

Please, in the name of all that is holy. Vote Yes.

The French government understands the urgency of this matter. Bolivia is under tremendous assault from radical elements armed with exotic technologies and we cannot allow Posadist elements to gain more control in the world than they have already.

However, we also have our reservations with this proposal. While we can appreciate the sentiment, the fact remains that the scale of the crisis in Bolivia is something which the United Nations has little experience in, and we question whether they have the resources and personnel to handle a crisis of this magnitude.

As a result, unless the United States is willing to provide additional details in its resolution for how the UN would be gaining these resources and experienced personnel, the government of France would prefer a different resolution that instead authorizes the deployment of international security forces to Bolivia, spearheaded by NATO. No one can question the abilities of NATO, and they stand a better chance of solving the crisis in Bolivia than throwing peacekeepers into a warzone and hoping it sticks

The UK agrees with France and asks how this will be ran and who will be in charge, sending troops into a nation with no apparent leader or central command is the fastest way historically to kill thousands in convential warfare, dealing with a group of unknown skill or alien intervention could be extremly bad for the rest of the world

We understand the reason behind this UN vote and we do agree something NEEDS to be done as fast as humanly possible but we are forced to request more info on how this is going to pan out not only for our troops safety and there families back on the home islands but for all the troops that will be sent into the future and there families at home

As a side note we do support having NATO in charge of this deployment as we feel the UN is not suited for this type of action while NATO is

We are sadden to see that the Conservative Leadership of the United Kingdom are still the spineless individuals that have not learned the lessons of Munich. The threat of the aliens are growing every day. Unless the world stand's firmly against them we will not triumph in this crisis. We saw what happens when the world dithers in the face of a crisis in 1941. The USSR urges the world not to wait again.

The UK wants a plan in place so we don't send people to there death, the USSR should know first hand what happens when you both don't have a good plan/response to something and a lack of a fix for it before the problem gets out of control, people are needlessly sent to there death. The UK stands frim in its request for ANY detailed plan of action regarding this deployment, we would go as far as to just ask WHO would be in charge.

In light of the United Kingdom's recent reckless and unilateral action, Pakistan feels that the only way this proposal can succeed is for the international force to be under the auspices of the UN. That the UK has the gall to have repeatedly insisted that we must wait for more information before making such preparations and then launch missiles at Argentina as a 'test' without warning anyone is the height of hypocrisy and not only casts doubt on the ability of NATO command to be aware of its member states taking such risks, but seriously discredit's France's claim to NATO's unquestionable capability to lead such an undertaking.

Given the current dubious capability of NATO to organize a response to this threat and the furthermore questionable call by the UK and France to subordinate the Warsaw Pact and socialist guerillas under the command of their organization, which has never been tested in coordinating an allied war effort, Pakistan suggests the United Nations take the step that the United Nations backed away from after the end of the Korean War and establish the United Nations Command as not just an ad hoc coalition, but a subsidiary organ of this organization.

Saudi Arabia again wishes to raise the issue of peacekeepers in Bolivia. Surely, with multiple ad hoc militias and foreign volunteers having arrived in this "Human Zone", we have found a reason that even our abnormally-reticent French allies can agree upon is just. Let the United Nations live up to their name, brothers, and have our peacekeepers stand firm and bring together the disparate defense forces of the Human Zone so that regular military forces may be freed up for strategic operations in defense of Bolivia.

With the developing situation in Bolivia the French government is more open to playing an active role, though we still lack confidence as to how successful it will be. Regardless of how much we might approve though, it remains that we cannot vote in favor because there is nothing to vote on, unless the United States has presented a formal working paper about the deployment of peacekeepers to Bolivia when we weren't looking.

While some nations remain reluctant, the People's Republic of China stands ready to deploy to Latin America, and invites nations and organisations seeking a way to contribute to join with the People's Revolutionary Command as an overarching command structure to better coordinate in the immediate term. We remain ready and willing to participate in a wider global effort as one becomes organised, but until such a time, while there is a need for organisational unity and action, the People's Revolutionary Command and the People's Revolutionary Army of Earth will provide the structures required.

We wish to make clear, although the nations of the PRAE may be REVINFRONT members and socialist, participation in this effort to liberate Bolivia are open to the masses of all the world. Only through our joint struggle can we overcome the xeno-imperialists and alien roaders.

The UK plans on sending 2 units to the human zone along with between 2,000 - 4,000 UAVs along with between 100 - 400 new untested UAVs to help with recon and bombing

Leopoldo Benites - Republic of Bolivia
Permanent Representative to the United Nations

It appears my government has been eliminated to the last man. I no longer have a government to represent. This is... this is bad.

I plead with the international community to place the Cuban and American troops currently in my homeland, as well as all future deployments, and the Soviet troops in Peru, under immediate United Nations supervision to prevent human rights abuses against my people. And please, rein in the mercenaries and volunteers. We are suffering.

I- I think I need to go sit down.

Secretary-General U Thant

With only the United States having voted YES, this vote will be closed 48 hours from now, unless a new proposal, a firm veto, or further votes arrive. The discussion may however be reopened at a later date.
