Didn't we previously say no to Japan because there's nothing relevant for Japan to do on the world stage for another 50 years? Do we have to wheel out RinKou again to make case he always has to make that realistically Japan is pointless to play in most pre-1850s-ish periods?

I don't really have an issue with it unless some stupid/wildly ahistorical stuff happens. The issue, I suppose, is that most things that could happen fall into that category.

I don't really have an issue with it unless some stupid/wildly ahistorical stuff happens. The issue, I suppose, is that most things that could happen fall into that category.

I was planning on building a gradual ahistorical direction of sorts based off of Gesar's seiziure of the Ryukyu Islands earlier this game as the Qing - or, well, it was effectively close enough to a seizure for my purposes, I think. And I am okay with having a slow start, such as it is. If feelings are strong enough about it, though, I suppose I could go through the list and take a different nation.
