UNSC: Emergency Session on Paris

Post by Master of Oblivion »

The Soviet Union would like to call an emergency session on the situation in Paris. It appears that the Posadist movement is a cancer that is metastasizing. The Soviet Union crush a tumor in Eastern Europe. Now the world must decide how it will respond to the outbreak in Paris. We ask that the French ambassador take the floor and tell the nations of the world how it will respond to this disaster. Our French friends should know that Moscow is willing to offer support in this effort.

While we are fully willing to support the USSR due to the fact this needs to be solved we believed do to the ..... distained that a lot of French people feel to the eastern nations that the USSR doing anything in France would be unwise unless a different nation is in control of this, we would happily help out if the French would request it

While the French government is grateful for the offer, we do not require any foreign assistance to handle this uprising. The fact of the matter is that this 'Parisian Heavenly Republic' is a mishmash of ideologies and agendas thrown together, and it is our belief that it will soon collapse due to internal disagreements and splintering under its own weight. At that time the French government can either negotiate their surrender, or the French Army will be able to reoccupy Paris with minimal loss of life all around

We firmly urge the French representative to reconsider. If the Aliens were to deploy a saucer - as we have evidenced from events in Chile, they clearly have more than one - then Paris and perhaps all of western Europe may be lost. At the very least, we urge France to activate Article 5 of the NATO Treaty and to organise a NATO-led operation to crush the alien roaders as soon as possible. While we regret the loss of life that must necessarily follow, particularly amongst no-doubt innocent members of the socialist movement in France, we can offer no sympathy or regard to those who knowingly collaborate with these would-be alien masters. To collaborate is to condone.

As painful as it is to say it, the United States agrees with the representative from Red-occupied China on this issue. Furthermore, we remind the French delegation that a lack of decisive multilateral action is what got everyone here in the first place.

We hope the American government will forgive our impudence for calling for a multilateral decisive response to a crisis that did not exist yet when this body previously met. As it pains us to say, we cannot predict the future and did not recognize that there would be an armed uprising in Paris.

Regardless, we understand the concerns presented as to the possible alien foothold in Europe. But at this time we have seen no evidence to indicate anything other than these revolutionaries merely being students and average citizens pulled under the sway of false ideologies and heady emotions. We have not ruled out the use of force, but we are currently waiting for a report from the French Army before we decide the best way to approach the problem.

Foreign intervention is not necessary or welcome at this time. France is perfectly capable of handling its own domestic affairs without outside aid

Secretary-General U Thant

I expect the non-permanent members of the UNSC to make their delayed responses in a few days at the minimum.
