The Communist Party of Brazil (4) symbolically votes yes.

To our Argentinian comrades: "Las Malvinas son Argentinas"!

To our British comrades: Reject colonialism - workers of the world, unite!

To the people of Brazil: Viva a América Latina! Morte ao colonialismo!

The Social Democratic Party (27) will split on this bill, seven in favour, five opposed, the rest (15) abstaining.

This is a complicated issue that we do not have an adequate sense of to develop a sensible party platform on the issue; we will require additional time to look into the matter, and with the economic turmoil, we have not had a chance to do such.

Sebastião do Rego Barros, President of the Chamber of Deputies

Due to a large majority, this bill does not pass. It is now henceforth tabled.

I'm proud to be such a scoundrel
