Italian Withdrawal from the League of Nations

Italian Withdrawal from the League of Nations

Regno d'Italia

For too long, Italy has felt the sting of shame and betrayal. When after the Great War, our nation was denied territories rightfully ours, we said nothing. When like vipers the nations of the world spat their venom at us, we said nothing. Yet now, when we have at last reclaimed honor, and seen fit to make a place for ourselves in the world, this body seeks to cast us down and stifle us, paying no heed to our attempts at compromise. We have been called aggressors, war criminals, and all other manner of insults in this body. And for what? The occupation of a portion of the African continent.

Where are the calls for decolonization, if such a sin is so grievous? Why has the United Kingdom not seen fit to begin dismantling their empire, acquired just as forcefully as Ethiopa? Why does Spain not lobby thier fellow colonial powers to end their reign over far off lands, but focuses so heavily on us? When shall the League live by it's principles, rather than acting as a vehicle for the jealous and hypocritical to assert their will upon lesser powers?

The pride of Italy can stand it no longer. For our people, we must withdraw from this body, which has shown no care or concern for us. They care more for the plight of Selassie than the countless slaves his rule allowed to toil. It cares more for protecting a backwater than fostering a better world. It cares more for the cold status quo than the dynamic movement of history. If this body seeks to stifle the march of time, then they shall find themselves crushed by it.

Sanction Italy if you will. Condemn Italy if you will. We refuse to entertain this farce any longer.
Not actually an ancap, thank God.

Would someone please remove the representative of the insurgent 'Nationalist Spain' from the Chamber?

Italian withdrawal from the League of Nations and the loss of all privileges therein has been noted and accepted.

UNION OF SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS

Do svidaniya, Scum.
My hat on the side
Dragging clog
Scarf around my neck
Razor in my pocket
I'm swinging by
I tease and challenge
I'm proud to be such a scoundrel
