While we are aware that we have already voted on this bill, we believe that we were hasty in our decision. There are concerns raised by the Chamber which have yet to be addressed, and we believe that we should attempt to rectify them now. It would be phrased as such.

Whereas the cause of Women's Suffrage has garnered an increasing amount of public support from all segments of Brazilian society,

Whereas Women's Suffrage has become an increasingly embraced idea by the democratic world since the end of the First World War, including in Britain and the United States,

Whereas the law of Rio Grande do Note has granted women full political rights since 1926,

• Section One. The Constitution will be amended to include a new clause in the relevant section. "Women are to be granted full political rights, including the right to vote, hold public office, and all other rights therein, in equal condition and status with men across the entirety of Brazil."
• Section Two. The Brazilian federal government will begin efforts to enroll as much of the female population as possible in preparation for the upcoming elections
• Section Three. This amendment will take effect immediately upon passage.

We would like to know if the esteemed Senators would prefer the original proposal, or this new one

We would, of course, prefer the latter proposal, as per the reasons outlined by our Deputy colleagues from the BLOC party.

While unfortunately the BLOC now cannot vote in favor of the amended bill given our lack of seats in the Senate, we will go on the record of giving it our full endorsement.

Due to an overwhelming majority, this bill passes. The bill shall now be submitted to the office of His excellency, the President of the Republic, in order to wait for his approval.

I am grateful for the work that the Congress has done to bring this Amendment to me now. However I CANNOT sign this bill as presented, as it leaves the job that we have embarked upon half completed. I hereby give my support to the amended bill proposed by the Senate, and hope to see it rapidly brought to this office so it may be signed into law

As there does not appear to be anyone against the amendment, we recommend it be sent to the office of the President for approval posthaste
