The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is pleased to announce that it will establish full diplomatic relations with the Republic of India. Let this be the first step towards peace and cooperation in East Asia and may the Indian people throw off all remnants of colonialism and oppression. We also thank them for expressing an interest in Kim Il Sungs idea for a "Confederal Republic of Koryo" as a viable method of Korean unification.

The DPRK has officially recognized the People's Republic of Bangladesh as independent from Pakistan. Full diplomatic relations will be established along with embassies.
