Canadian-Argentinian Mutual Assistance and Friendship Treaty

In the interests of restoring a most perfect friendship and harmony between His Majesty’s Governments of Canada and the United Kingdom and the Argentine Republic, and defending the shared values of civilisation between the realms of Argentina and the British Commonwealth, the following clauses are agreed between His Majesty’s Governments and the government of the Argentine Republic:

Article I: The signatory parties affirm their mutual assistance against Syndicalist and other extremist threats, both internal and external. Both parties pledge that they will aid one another in defending our shared values against those groups or nations that would seek to overthrow civilisation and replace it with barbarism.

Article II: To facilitate this agreement, the Royal Navy facilities upon the South Atlantic Islands governed by the Argentine Republic are to be returned to the hands of the Royal Navy and re-activated, most specifically at Port Stanley and King Edward Harbour, with the military forces of the Argentine Republic to enjoy full use and access to these facilities as well.

Article III: The Royal Navy shall enjoy basing rights in Argentinian military harbours when necessary, for the purpose of mutual assistance as stipulated in Article I.

Article IV:
The whaling stations on the South Atlantic Islands governed by the Argentine Republic are to be reopened and made accessible to fishing and whaling vessels of the British Commonwealth, so as to restore the profitable trade and commerce that the region formerly experienced.

Article V: Both parties agree to work towards a comprehensive trade agreement between the Argentine Republic and the nations of the British Commonwealth, with the technical details and the assent of all Dominions to the trade proposal to be forthcoming after specialist negotiations.
