Re: Le Monde
By Order of president Charles De Gaulle,
The Provisional Government of France recognizes and salutes the efforts of irregular forces during the German occupation of France. Victory could not have been achieved without their brave sacrifices for our fair nation.
However, with the end of the conflict the presence of such irregular forces is no longer needed. Their perpetuation poses a danger to the safety and stability of the French nation. This has already been shown through the brazen murder of American soldiers outside Lyon. Such a situation cannot be allowed to continue.
Recognizing the urgency of this matter and the need to take action, the Provisional Government hereby,
1. Calls for the disbanding of all remaining Resistance organizations. Members of these groups are free to join the French armed forces, but they will receive no special privilege because of previous service in irregular forces in doing so.
2. Announces that the Provisional Government will engage in a buyback program for all military equipment and firearms. A bipartisan committee will be established to oversee this process. The deadline for this will continue through [Late 1946]
3. Hereby orders all militia members to lay down their arms and return to their homes. Any armed individuals found engaging in unauthorized military actions will be held accountable by authorities
4. Empowers police to detain individuals they believe to be acting in support of activities by irregular forces or militia movements....

Strikes throughout France!
"...On the topic of the strikes and their agenda, President De Gaulle had this to say. "Disabuse yourself of this notion. There will be no reunification with the Muscovites in Paris so long as this Republic endures. I will not sign my beloved homeland over to rule by the iron hand of Stalin and his cronies."

Elections in French India
While strikes ravage the homeland, and Vietnam is embroiled in violence, not all of the world is so caught up in conflict. One small corner of the Empire is French India, established over a period of several years in order to facilitate French economic interests in India, it is a part of our beloved state that escapes the attention of many. What can it compare to the wide expanses of Africa or our beautiful homeland, after all?
Yet the small piece of land provides an example to us all. In those elections a coalition known as the National Democratic Front was able to seize a decisive victory in all areas of the legislature, cementing their place in the administration.
With the tensions between Marseilles and Paris, one would expect violence. Troops in the streets, marching in to depose an elected government that had been put in power by the people.
However that was not the case. I've been informed by an NDF spokesperson that they had a very pleasant conversation with President De Gaulle, who has assured them that he will do whatever he can to ensure that French India receives the support that it needs in these trying times. With violence raging across the border I am sure that that must be comforting for the administrators here.
But ultimately I feel that it is important to recognize what this represents. Despite the detractors claiming that he is a tyrant or a secessionist, here is an example of the President willfully working with socialists and even communists in positions of power within the government, While admittedly limited in scope, it is a useful demonstration of the cooperation that can take place on a larger scale in the French Republic. With ongoing strikes across Southern France, I believe we could all look to French India, of an example of how we can continue to work together in a free and fair society, rather than letting ideology and grievances of the past divide us.

Printing Resumes....
Having relocated to our Toulouse Branch during the events of the Easter Coup, we are pleased to report that we are back in operation and will continue to report the news to the public for as long as we are able...
Martial Law Declared!
With the ongoing fighting in Southern France, the government has declared a state of emergency. Martial law is in effect, and an 8 pm curfew has been imposed for the duration of the crisis. A general mobilization has also been declared, and all citizens are advised to cooperate with law enforcement officials....
War Declared!
Having arrived in Northern Africa with the assistance of Allied forces, De Gaulle quickly returned to the public spotlight. Government offices that last saw service in the Second World War in Algiers were reopened, as the government resumed its functions following the Easter Coup.
In a passionate speech, De Gaulle called for all 'patriotic and freedom loving' Frenchmen to take up arms against the French Commune, citing the threat to their liberty from the Communist menace, and the foreign support the Commune had recieved from the Soviets in supplying the Commune with materials and formenting uprisings in the colonies.
Given the ongoing fighting, it comes as no surprise that he finished his speech by officially declaring a state of war between the Fourth Republic and the French Commune. There has yet to be word as to whether the government will bring the issue before the United Nations, or invoke the wartime alliance with Britain and America, but one thing is clear. It seems another World War is on the horizon....
